| Ok few updates, Haven't really driven it since october, as I was having issues with how it drove, and I was concerned about the running temperature. First thing was to fit a SVDA dizzy that I bought of joker years ago, it needed a total strip down and re-assembly, which was hampered by shitty brittle washers that fell apart when you looked at them. I found suitable replacements for most, but an odd few I had to have made. So after fitting a new vac can, and an anti pulse valve, it amazing the difference that it's made to how the car drives. With the overheating, I've owned the car for 26 years, been involved in the scene since 89, I know the car inside out, yet I didn't know there were two different sizes of fan, a single port is 32mm wide twin port is 35mm. Turns out for the last 20 years, I've had a single port fan in my engine! That should sort the overheating, then I can probably go down a size on my idle jets as well. | |

| I've already got an external cooler Mart, I am aware of the type 4 cooler mod, I just can't be arsed dropping the engine out again for no real purpose, I have a set of hookeys inspection plates to fit next time I do though! | |

| Ok, it failed the mot on wheel bearing, so, because i have done this before, it took half hour to get the back end stripped down! New bearing drifted in. While the backplate was off, it got repaired with new locking tab on the star adjusters, handbrake retaining bracket was straightened, and a coat of smoothrite was applied. Seal retaining plate installed. Cylinder back in and shoes installed. After a bit of faffing, hub was back on, and brakes bled and adjusted! Easy! | |

| Went back in this afternoon, still had issues on that wheel, bloody drum seems to be worn, after the tester said it was a bearing, so, new drums on both sides and shoes required. | |

| As per usual, I've been getting carried away, sorted the rear end out, then the inspector informed me I had a bald tyre and a tiny bit of grot on one of the rear bumper mounts. So I thought fuck it, not going to drive until the spring, so here we go!! Both rear corners cut, new side trays to be fitted, bit of a repair to the firewall, fit hookeys inspection panels. While I've got the engine out, I'll refit the type 3 tins that I didn't fit on this build, also tempted to de-tune the car slightly by changing it from 1835 to 1776, for reliability. | |
