| I am going to have to move my rev counter, they say its blocking too much of the forward vision, I'll have to fab an ally bracket up to hang it on the dash somehow. | |

| Well, with only a couple of weeks until CTTP, I've decided to rip the interior out of the beetle! What I like to see, solid floors! Luggage area stripped. I've got a new headliner and carpet set to fit in it, I'm also going to make a centre console out of aluminium, and I've got a set of sill covers being made for me out of ally as well. First job was to make and weld some new wind shear tabs on to the drivers side b pillar as the old ones had been removed when the ding was knocked out of it 20 years ago. It's got to be better than trying to hold it on there with gripfill! It's also amazing how much shit/swarf/sand accrued under the carpets in the last 20 years, seeing as it was garaged. | |

| I bought a cheapo at dubfreeze for £50, then sent it back because when I looked at the b pillar pecies they were awful. Bought a TMI one from cool air for £80. Tabs welded in and primed. | |

| Be careful which one as centre headlining does not have all the tabs to secure it, top of doors , post around rear window..
To fit them you will also need a steamers to make it stretch

Good point Andy thanks for that. Going to carpet it with mega stretch now like they do in the t4/5. It's only to tidy up the inside. | |

| Quick update, headliner done. Bit of a crease above the A pillars, but they go when the sunvisors are fitted. Front panel of switch console fitted, rewired rear speakers with proper speaker wire rather than cooker cable. Ignore the plastic wash/wipe switch, the billet one needs to be cleaned! The cover plate for the console has been made, just waiting to fit the carpet first. I've run out of glue though! | |

| Getting there now. Knobs! The start button has a blue LED backlight wired in with the gen light so it glows only when the engine isn't running. Speakers back in. Rear seats back in, I can't afford to get the retrimmed yet, so back on wth the creased seat covers. Better pic of the centre console, Just need to fit the seatbelts back in now, clean a bit of overspray off and fit the ally sill covers (that I haven't got yet) and fab a new tachometer bracket. | |

| Got a bollocking for having the rev counter in front of the windscreen last year, so I knocked up a bracket! Cut out of aluminium. Bend Clean up with scotchbrite and mounting holes drilled Mounted! View from the cockpit! Just got the seatbelts to refit, a bloody good clean and polish, then I'm good to go! | |

| Throttle pedal hinge snapped last Sunday on my way home, jamming against the roller. I made it home though. Repair time! Pedal out Old hinge cut off £2.19 hinge from wickes welded on Bit of satin black! Pop riveted back on to the bit still attached to the floor, I would have preferred to weld it, but I couldn't be arsed stripping the carpet back out. Big foot back on! | |
