New project

Well, as many of you will already know, I have blown my last pennies (in fact my entire bathroom budget) on another T4, as I missed my last one so much.

So here it is. Its pretty much all there bar a few bits that need attention, and an interior.

I have started by ripping out the interior and giving the inside a good clean.

Its a 2.5 TDI, lowered, alloys, electric windows, Cobra Alarm, deadlocks on all doors, captain swivel seats, after market back lights.
Front disks and pads new, rear pads new. 147k on the clock, apparently the clutch is done and cam belt fitted 35k ago.
Reverse is difficult to select but no noises from the box, it needs a good service.
There are areas of rust on the arches and the paintwork is very flat. I have already tried to bring the bonnet back up, but its going to take some saving the paint.
I have a front red and black checkered bonnet bra which I will be flogging shortly to pay for bits if anyone is interested??
There is a triple rear sear and mounts which i need to look at as it looks a bit broken.

Looks a good base.
Get a ticket on it for Oktoberfest!

The insurance and tax could be a big issue there!! lol, Im trying not to go over drawn too much at the moment (it got a bit out of control last time, and I ended up having to sell the van to cover it!!!)

You could always sell the bug to pay for the van repaiirs

Been out of the van tonight, managed to take out loads of play from the seats, with a large lump hammer and ratchet socket! lol The bases on both had got out of shape, so working nice now. Checked all the lights etc, rear number plate light out, so new bulb for that tomorrow, rear window wiper blade required and washer jets unblocked.
Put some floor back in and refitted all the dash bits I removed the other night to identify the cables that were all over the place.
Ready for MOT Thursday, so will see if it does or doesnt go straight through.
Its a bit smokey, but hasnt been used for a while, so needs a good run out.

Unfortunately even if it does go through, I had some insurance quotes back today, so definate no for it at Octoberfest (mind you, I will have to look at the weather nearer the time! lol

It was cheaper to fully comp it than it was 3rd party.

Any good insurance companies for a good price?

I've got Chunk covered for about £420 through HIC

I was quoted 462 today, but want to see if I can get it for less. I bloody hate HIC, so much paperwork to do!!

Mines through adrian flux, unlimited mileage £300 fully comp as a van with 5 seats though as wont insure it as camper.

i normally get mine from camskills and get jack at quick fit to slip them on

I just checked and dont think I need the ZR rating (for vehicles exceeding 240Km/H) R should be just fine.

It cold, wet and horrible outside, so out the unit doing the anti roll bar bushes!
