Project No Money

And gearbox given a quick tidy up nothing special but it looks better



Cracked on today and had Dad out helping which was cool, fitted the gearbox, handbrake cables, driveshaft gaiters and brake lines



Got the beam back in aswell so she's back to a rolling chassis



then pushed it outside and gained a little helper



The rollin chassis







Gave the workshop a clean up and found a new home for some of the parts i had kicking around in there and pushed the body in ready for work to start tomorrow

Started the body today, thought i best start with the gutter repair as if they were to bad was pointless doing the rest of the body........well the actual seams of the gutters are screwed , but the grot hasn't spread into the roof itself.

After a little thought and a bit of advice from my bro, I said bollocks to it and attacked it with the grinder..........and started to de-seam her

BRUTAL!!!

The ragtop will be started as soon as this is done, starting to gather parts for the resto though.......recon it might only be a few months

not much progress to report steve, however could do with some advice if you've got a hour free at some point

Got back in the workshop today and cracked on with no money!!

got the welding finished on the N/S inner arch to boot floor



and the top corner of the engine bay


Just need to grind back the welds but gotta do the other side yet

then i decided to smooth out the crescent behind the rear window





Should go nicely with the deseamed roof

removed the repair panel from the N/S rear quarter that i wasn't happy with the fit or the sheer amount of filler



as this is a budget project I played around with the panel untill I was happy with the fit and welded it back in



half way through welding the panel in the Mig packed up
Stripped it all down the find that the circuit that controlls the wire speed had burnt out and that the manufactures stopped making the migs 10yrs ago

So went out and got this beauty



Finished off the quarter panel not perfect but better than it was



and started the work on the inner arch ready for a near nut line to go in

Now get on with it

Cut the grott out of the N/S rear stud line



Trimmed up the new panel and eventually got the the fooking thing to fit properly



Fabricated the rest of the engine bay repairs and welded the section of the body back in





thats all the structual welding finished on the N/S

Dude ....its rockin' along ...fair play that rear quarter looks 100 times better ....before it had a bout a 1/2 inch of filler in it .....top job ....






















now get on with it
