No, i have just got a house on Cannons gate (behind Crabb Apple area)

Finally found why the car doesnt like idleing very well... found a tiny pin hole in the standard rubber inlet hose, so after seeing the rediculous price of a new one i took a trip to my mates work and bought a 90 degree alloy intake pipe with a few silicone hoses. I reckon it makes the engine bay so much neater, and as a bonus was less than half the price than a rubber one. Happy days!



Also replaced the crap standard number plate lights with some White LED items. i was worried they might look a bit chav, but they actually look alright, and they are hidden so no chrome showing.

Was hoping to get the car booked in for MOT today but i didnt have enough time to finish off a few things. So looks like its gonna have to be next week now.

And on another note, i got me a rare new project for the winter.... a Vauxhall Chavanne. (factory produced Panel van Chevette estate)

Slap a red top or a V6 motor in it with a carlton/omega box....biggest hassle is finding a strong enough rear axle

Right, after getting the Vette home i resisted playing around with it and cracked on with the Golf instead....

Decided to make myself a 'proper' rear strut brace instead of the crap show alloy braces that most people buy

Made up some Brackets




Bent them to fit strut



Measured, cut, and welded some Scaffolding to the bracket





Welded on some brackets for attaching my harnesses to



Perfect fit



Painted in Satin black

yeah i know man, i get him to do the welding that is seen and i do the stuff under the car. lol

Well, just a quick note to say KAT now has a full MOT and tax.
Just cant afford to put fuel in her now. lol

Going to give her a proper clean and polish 2mrw and take some better pics.

A lad studying photography at College wanted to try out some moving shots using a rig.He did a really good job. Wish we had got more but the light was against us.

As ive been working on the buggy lately i felt ive been neglecting poor old kat for a while, so i jacked her up and wound her coilovers down another half inch. She sits much better now
Whilst i was under the car i noticed one of the driveshaft bolts was lose, so i went round and tightened that one and every bolt under the car just be safe.

Also re-bled the clutch system as everytime i started the car from cold the clutch wouldnt work. Was a bugger to bleed for some reason but got there in the end.

Also the twin fans i had fitted a while back were only held on with cable ties to stop them hitting the inlet manifold, so today i made up some brackets and bolted the fans in properly.

Didnt get any pics im affraid as its a bit of a boring update.

Tonight i started a job that i wish i hadnt! Ive never been happy with how i originally ran the engine looms when i built the car, so in my wisdom i thought i'd take them out and re-route them...simple?!!

Ive cut and re-jointed a load of the loom as they were a bit long in places, and tried to hide as much of the loom as possible, only half way there and it already looks so much neater. Well pleased!

I will take some pics tommorow night once i finish sorting it.

Spent a few hours after work today playing with the golf.
- Adjusted the rear brakes, and handbrake
- Wired brshed under all the arches and coated in Schaults and waxoil
- freshened up the Brake Calipers with some silver paint






I need to make a new Tow eye for the front as i think its chancing fate taking the car to Plymfest with no way of towing it back if she breaksdown. So thats tommorow nights job.

Well..... i made it to Plymfest but not in KAT.
I spent friday morning polishing her so she gleamed, loaded her up with all our camping gear. All was going well until i drove her to Tesco to fill up with juice. She cut out in Tesco carpark. Ive traced it to an electrical fault somewhere, im pretty sure its my ignition coil breaking down though so i will replace it at some point and see if thats made a difference. Bit gutting tbh that i never made it to plymouth.
