| K.A.T. - The latest toy! And yes she is again a water pumper (two water pumps infact to be precise) The AimThe Aim for K.A.T is bordering the 400bhp mark, (depending on what ECU i use) The principle is easy, use a 2.8 V6 from a crashed Mk2 VR6 i had, chuck a T3/T4 Turbo onto a custom made manifold, add some 440cc Injectors, a Bosch fuel pressure regulator, and a Mercedes Sprinter Intercooler mounted up front. All this will run 350bhp with no problem on standard VR6 management, or if i increase the MAF to approx 4" and get a plug and play C2 chip from TSR that will see 400bhp at 8psi boost. Stand alone management will see anything over 430bhp but then im talking big money and lower compression will be needed. Ive seen 600bhp Golfs running a slightly higher engine spec but with 25psi boost The car i crashed and will be using most bits from to build K.A.T. So there you have it. Now it gets interesting..... A 1.3 CL spec Mk2 Golf with no sunroof, sprayed in VW Cactus Green with gold laquer. Currently lowered on 80mm cut springs! All side mouldings removed and holes welded / smoothed, and rear pael has been debadged, de wipered, and smoothed. Engine removed and engine bay sprayed cleaned and sprayed Matt black Original CL subframe, steering rack, struts, and hubs removed Crash damaged VR6 subframe and rack were robbed of straight parts and rebuilt onto the mk2 Subframe. All VR6 engine mounts were cut down and re welded by 2" to allow VR6 engine to sit level and allow bonnet to close. The Doner VR6 engine and gearbox - needs block welding and few things fixing before too much can be done with it. Broken Gearbox mount Bent Driveshafts Cracked Exhausts Few other things like need new Inlet manifold, Fuel injector rails, Alternator and bracket, tensioner, slimline radiator and twin fans. Had a mate machine me a custom made Solid front engine mount for the front cross member. (stops engine moving and hitting bonnet) Fitted Mk2 Subframe and modified VR6 engine mounts, Eibach VR6 antiroll bars, Mk2 16v Wishbones, hubs, and driveshafts, G60 288mm Brakes with Audi S2 Calipers up front, and some 17" Compomotive MO alloys from a mates Seat Ibiza Rally car. Also fitted Koni adjustable suspension for the time being till i get some fully adjustable coilovers

its riding hi for you??? Your such an ass! I happen to quite like the 4x4 look with orange wheels! Means that when i roll it into a hedge at 160mph the police and ambulance can see my reflective wheels easier!

I am expecting the car to be driveable within a month. Maybe not turbo'd then as i want to repair the block, and run the engine for a week or so just to prove it is ok before i shove another 200 horses up its arse! If all goes well then ideally i would like it completed by end of October time.

Well heres how the story goes.... i was pottering down a 30mph limit doing roughly 31mph when bugger me a wall collapsed infront of me and i had no where to go! The annoying thing is that a passing dagenham dustbin Mondeo happened to come onto my side of the road aswell and took me out! hahaha! Nah seriously i was giving the old girl a bit of a beasting whilst over taking some parked cars, a car coming towards me wasnt slowing so i put my foot on the brake and the pedal went straight to the floor, only choice i had was clip the corner of a dagenham dustbin Mondeo which sent me straight into a 4ft thick stone wall, which then catapalted me across the road in a 360 degree spin! Police investigaters did an inspection of the car to find that the Brake master cylinder had failed to push fluid through to the brakes, hence why the pedal lost pressure.

| Just won some adjustable coilovers from Ebay for a bargain price of £150 a set brand new! Never heard of the make (hot tuning) but a few guys from other forums highly rate them for the money. | |
