| Just done the test.... and the headgasket seems good. So the next things to do- - i will replace the Thermostat with a 'cool running' one for summer use - Replace the Expansion Tank Cap for a new one as its got a pressure release system built in and this could of been the overheating prob - Wire up a 12v Electric Water pump in circuit Hopefully that should sort the overheating especially as its expected to be a hot summer! | |

| Well.... KAT is in bits again I removed all the plastic Thermostat housings, tested the thermostat in a bowl of boiling water and it seems fine. So i re-vaselined all the O-rings and reassembled the housing. Whilst the car is in this state i figured i may aswell sort a few little things whilst i can get to them.. Things i want to do while its in this state.. - Replace the Yellow and Blue Temp sensors - Fit an Oil pressure gauge - Fit a Cylinder Head Temperature gauge - Double check all nuts and bolts whilst i can reach them - Wire the Electric water pump and rad fans to an over ride switch on the dash - Replace the Split hose on the back of engine - Replace the Expansion Bottle to a later style VR6 bottle and cap - Replace Ignition leads with 7mm Silicone leads - Oil Change and replace filters - Tidy the wiring a bit more as it is a mess I also want to make an Aluminium Intake pipe to replace that Ribbed rubber hose... no real reason other than Bling! | |

I hope so, i went down to Exmouth at the weekend and it got quite hot (just over 100 degrees) on the gauge but i didnt want to risk it and turned the engine off. Didnt fancy it breaking down that far away from home! Ive sourced some twin fans so will fit these soon. | |

| Dude, years ago (when I was an apprentice) and I had to run drawings and stuff down to Yeovil (before email and that!! ) we had a pool car. The temp gauge on that had 100 in the middle.......and had it as a normal operating temp. Can't remember what the car was now.........was probably shit!!!! | |
