| Flatted and polished the rear wing that I had to re spray as I am a twat., fitted and cut the beading. Just need to do it up again. My mate matt, sanded down the petrol tank where I had a reaction and sprayed it again with dust coats, but reacted again!! Bloody thing.
I need to get out on a weekend to spray the bumpers, tank and a few other bits.
Big thanks to joker for his little gift tonight. ( I will show when it's fitted)

no filler primer, i think he may have to either re-sand it back, or get it blasted. wiz biz, if you are poping out the unit with the lining, see my message and i will let you know when i am out there. then you can pop down and discuss. andy

I had to take Max to A&E last night so no plumbing and I need to stay close by tonight. Then when they are settled I can go out there.

| Right then, I have been back out to play and have de-greased the engine tinwhere so that I can start getting this ready for paint in the near future. I have also cleaned the engine which although its grease free now (mostly) it looks a little tatty as the silver paint is coming off. However it was rebuilt or a recon in 03/03/00. I have had it 4 years, it spent 4 years sat in a field at my old mans garage so 4 years use before being laid up, and I know that it was mostly used for school runs when on the road. Preped the petrol tank and I now seem to have sorted the area that had the reaction. I have stone chipped the underneath of the tank so just need to black this now. When I bought the repro chrome bumpers, I was in to minds which way to go, but I have gone with plan B and decided to colour match the bumpers to the car, (so selling the europa bumpers on. So out came the grinder to try and remove the chrome off the originals (I tried to do it the nice way with a DA but it put up too much aof a fight, so more serious measures had to be taken!!). Once I had both stripped, I treated with rust killer and sprayed with filler primer. Now for the running boards. I had standard ones which were low quality (or standard running boards which are also for sale!) But managed to get a set of alloy off Big Dave. There was a bracket missing off the front on one, so made a new one and bonded it on. Gave them a really good clean and rubbed them down. Then a quick coat of filler primer and bingo bango I found the other day when looking at my great interior that some mice had made the carpets there new home!!!! thankfull the seats are ok, however they were all dead but the smell on the carpet is going to prove difficult to remove!! I need to get all carpets and seats shampooed before I put them back in. I havent done much more to the body recently but this is how its looking. | |

| I didn't get a chance to get mixing cups today so didn't go to the unit, instead I stripped down my twin carbs (well on long term loan). I found the jets etc in them were correct but lots of missing bits ( silly little things like fuel filters, washers etc, so those have been replaced). Just need the manifold gaskets and I can't start putting bits back together.
Happy days. | |
