Yeah that's the only thing going for it. The bar that pushes on the ball joint has bent under very little load. I am going to modify it and get a 32 ton bottle jack for it.

you will need a thicker bed for it, the cast plates will snap

Seems like you did everything correctly, thought it best to ask, some people don't realise the correct fitment. Give it a few miles and they may loosen.
Are you keeping the press in the lounge? perhaps with a vase and flowers?

When i changed the balljoints on my bug they were real tight for about 500 miles i did wonder if they were right in the beginning but they did loosen up

Cheers guys glad to know they will hopefully loosen. Not sure about 500 miles lol might take a couple years that way
