| Whats on the back? if it's a compression fitting or similar, how about fabricating something like this - it's designed to hold a vespa speedo in the headset, where the large hole fits under a compression clamp and the small hole onto a stud in the headset. | |

| Cheers Scoops There's only 2 very small screws on the back which hold the air line in place Done a bit more on Robbie today. I continued with the wiring for the switches. Found a switched live here: So now they're all wired up and ready to go. Then I removed the passenger seat: And carpet: I had to cut the carpet in one place to get it out. But it's under where the centre console goes, so you won't be able to see it. Got the carpet out into the garden to hoover and wash it: | |

I can't wait to see this progress Lucy, you aiming for CTTP?? I haven't set a date for when I want him to be done - with Joey and Bella we missed the 'debut' show by a minimum of 3yrs..... So I shall see you at CTTP 2014!

| Problem is - Newbies aren't really accepted by the aircooled lot, nor by the watercooled lot, so we're stuck in the middle not liked by anyone! | |

| Just a small update for now. I've got the air kit all wired in and ready to go. Just got to get a new drill so we can finish drilling the holes for the air lines to go through. Got the carpet back out again though: And have put a coat of dye on it: It'll probably need another 2-3 coats before it's totally black. | |

| Ive been thinking about doing this to my carpet as its light grey and i want it black, but they never made a Caddy van with black carpet. Was it a case of just spray it on with rattle cans? | |

| No, it comes in a 5 litre tub and you put it in a plant sprayer/empty mr muscle spray thing and then spray it on.

There's still places where there's not enough black on it, but I think with a few more coats it should be fine. Doing a grey one would be much easier as it's not so much of a colour change.

| Got the morning off (I'm supposed to be doing my accounts!), so added another layer of dye to the carpet. Here's what it had dried like: 50/50: And all done: I think it will need at least 1 more coat. If it were a darker carpet to start off with, it would have been easier, but the cream is taking quite a lot to cover. For those who have asked, here's what I've been using - a 5litre tub of black carpet dye from ebay, and an old kitchen cleaner spray bottle: and my new illuminated dual needle gauge arrived yesterday: | |

| The air is fully installed and working now. I've got it losely set up just to make sure it all worked and I'm going to route the wires properly, put gromits in the holes in the body and seal it all etc now. Front up: Down: Up: Down: Rear up: Down: Up: Down: It's hard to get decent pics cos I can't get far enough away from him in the garage. Here's a vid though: | |
