Unless anything goes pear shaped or a bit pete tong this is what I should have my hands on in 3 or 4 weeks time

My first Beetle InGarageinLondon

Been sat in a garage in SE London since Late 02 had been MOT'd and passed just before the door was closed. 44,000 on the clock 1300 engine not been turned over since 03. It's a soft top not sure if it is an original or a conversion. No idea on what work is gonna be involved but who cares gotta start somewhere. No name as yet a couple in mind but I will say nothing until I see the bug myself then I will know if it is fitting or not.

It's an aftermarket conversion dude not a Karmann but like you said, it's free!!
Will be good for you to be able to crack on with it.....have you got a garage at your house you can put it in and work on it??
Before you try and start it drain all the fuel out the system and change your oil. Whip the plugs out too for a clean up........turn it over for 10-20 seconds with the coil lead off then try and start it.......

I know.... I did it deliberatley dude, haha..... yeah it was free, but owes me a bit for transporting it, but still under £300 so far.... the rules of karma is that if its free, its because Ive done lots of good vw things for others in the past, hence karma is repaying me for it.... haha.... its how it works dude, I dont make the rules..... its just like Lee is being rewarded now too for giving out good karma... I popped this pic into photoshop enlarged it big time and had a good look tyres flat as a pancake, it's got running boards, stone chip protectors and from what I can see all the chrome looks in good nick can't see any rust on it just a bit dull. Where the soft top connects to the top of the wind screen is either really dirty or could be a bit of a dodgy area all in all I well happy.

Not the year I really wanted but I think this might be a keeper have to see when it has been properly looked at.

I have that kid in a candy store feeling

Nice one on your 1st aircooled Lee Wink

Looks like a "paris" conversion from the screen frame shape & rollbar??

If it is thats good cos' they are still in business & any missing parts will be easy to source if required.

No turnin back once you've gone aircooled amigo!

Well they're being fitted on Wednesday morning so it's all go from then! Very Happy

Coming to Weston isn't really a problem cos I have my own lessons up there and could tie that in with teaching up there, but Bridgy would be good if you wanted extra lessons when I'm not gonna be in Weston.
