My first beetle Stella...

And what's this pipe meant to be connected to?!

bloody hell you work fast, the pipe is meant to be on the airfilter but i think its the wong one on there not sure, the rot dont look to bad if you get stuck for someone to weld it give me a shout but you will have to drop it of to me i can sort it cheap

hehe thought we'd strip her out so we could see what needed doing So the pipe should be into the filter on top
Didn't want to put it on the wrong thing! But is it the wrong pipe?
Thanks for the offer of welding, Matt has borrowed a welder from vw resto and is gonna do it, if he has any problems I'll get him to give you a bell and possibly pop it down to you

Matt's grinding the floorpan tonight in hope we don't find any nasties!

Those pans are a funny colour arent they, haha, nothing a good grinding won't sort out (wire wheel them don't grind them!),

too late he's already grinded them, tbh it was pretty thick I'm not sure wire would have worked!

Wow, yeah maybe you're right, it did looks quite lumpy, are they nice and bare metalled now? I love bare metalled pans, lol. Get some primer/oxide on quick though as they rust in front of your eyes.

They are and yes we should have oxided as we went as they are rusting again! Just wanted to get the whole lots done then oxide them but only have limited time in the evening to get it done and can't grind to late don't wanna P*$$ the neighbours off (even though there all lovely)

Thought I'd correct as matt was using a grinder with a wire wheel on! I should pay more attention! The floorpans are done and primered for now to protect them. We've found some pretty bad stuff on the inner back arches but have welded one already, will try and take pictures as I'm pretty sure the other side is gonna be just as bad But we're cracking on with it...more pictures soon.
As for me I've been stripping off the seat covers to either make my own or order some Cream interior coming people Oh and I've mixed my own colour using our paint scheme think I'll keep it a secret but it's gorg!

Cool at this rate Stella will be all done in no time at all Em

She's turned out to be a bit of a rusty bitch with filler instead of welding

Well I tried to get some pics but can't loads them of my phone
But as a update all the welding was finished last week and dropped spindles are fitted. Have 2 sets of wheels to choose from and at moment my faves are spinstars. The wings, bonnet, doors and engine lid have all been primed and painted and some lacquered.
The plan is that all the painting/exterior will be finished by friday then the interior to do within 2 weeks (as we have to wait for our seat covers to be made)

The words are sounding pretty good...


But the pics will be even better...

Well all the exterior is painted, next for the interior paintwork to be sorted all lights etc back on and then new headlining, seats, carpets
