I was hoping to have it painted this month dude, but that all depends on work cos i've been told i'm working up past Derby for the next couple of weeks so will be lodging up there i think... Maybe next month now then..

Got some lighting sorted out the unit this morning happy man.. ...

After that i thought i'd get the O/S rear arch tacked on so thats what i did..

Front panel repaired just needs grinding back.. Fuel filler neck repiared and painted gloss black..

So now just the rear arch to finish welding and grinding back (about 2 hours work)
Front drivers wing to repair (about 2 hours work)
Rear panel to repair (again about 2 hours work)
Little hole in the N/S floor to repair (about 1 hours work)

Then thats the welding finally finished...
Then probably a day or so of prep then she's ready for priming and paint..

Got a bit more done this morning..
Made some panels for the N/S front wing cut the old out and welded in the new in place.. And found a little hole in the N/S door so that got some loving as well..


Then ground and sanded it all back and gave it a skim of filler..


Also ground and sanded the front panel repairs back and gave them a skim of filler as well..

slam it make it look as hard as nails ......everyones gonna fall in love with this one ....good work dude

Cheers dude, 60mm is low enough for Frizz i wanted to get coilovers but she knew i wouldn't be able to have it senseble so made me get the 60mm springs..

Really wish i didn't get totally wankered last night, could of had the rest of the welding finished this morning....

Hopefully she'll be in paint by the middle of next month and on the road by the end of feb..

Got the O/S rear arch all welded and ground back.



Then gave it a skim of filler..

Isn't it rare that the filler neck hasn't got any rot in it? ....amI right in thinking mk1 golfs suffer from this?

The fuel filler necks rot big time on Mk1's dude. The neck itself that goes to the tank was rotten on mine but the quarter is good..

Finished welding the lower bit's of the rear arch, then made a panel for the O/S rear valance and welded that bugger in..
Then made a panel with correct pressing and exhaust cutout for N/S lower rear valance. Also finished the lower rear section of the N/S rear arch..

Couple hours fabbing, welding and grinding left now.. Should be starting the prep work the weekend..

prep work for spraying? ......what coclour dude ?

Hell yeah buddy, she wont drive it as is.. Mars red dude..

Yeah dude it is.. But doesn't look it cos it's faded and about 4-5 different reds LMAO nearly every panel is a different colour...

lol ....red is a nightmare for that ....looking forward to see the paint job

Thats all the welding done now..

Well the last weekend and this weekend i've got out the unit and cracked on with the prep work only a couple hours each morning though but it seem i'm winning properly now..
A couple hours this morning will see the body work all finished, apart from priming then a quick flat down with 400 and 600 wet and dry..

Thats the bodywork all done now..
Just need to get some primer and pour it on..

I've got a couple days off work soon so she WILL be in primer by friday and maybe in paint on sunday fingers crossed..

Whizzed out the unit after work and got it masked up...
But i just couldn't leave it alone, so it's now all primed up, spotted a couple bits the need seeing to in the morning..

Fingers crossed it'll be red on friday..
