The Crewy used to smash cats eyes it's great fun buddy

As the car's so low, it managed to smash a hole in the bottom of the fuel tank with the track rod!

Time to fix the hole and clearance the tank

that should give you a bit more range nice work dude

Gotta give it a lick of paint before it goes in, but I'm looking forward to be able to drive past a filling station!

I was actually a little nervous making the first cut! It's had a couple of weeks to dry out and I rinsed it out with water too... But there was still a very strong smell of petrol!
Had to TIG weld it as MIG is porous!

i bet you didn't flush the tank out first before taking the grinder to it did you dave

This thread's a bit overdue an update!... It was so far down, I had trouble finding it!


Right, as it's now off the road, time to sort out a few problems:
The front end's lookin a bit kippered!



The grub screw and lockingt nut have been almost completly ground away!

I'll come back to those later!^^^

Glad your on the 66' again dude...I was worried what with the new pony....it may get forgotten ...............but really annoyed your paint reacted again!!!! ............have you tried a sealer before priming???.....is the primer compatable???...........hope you sort it dude....you deserve to

Next time dude whack some Bar-coat on it first before priming that should seal it up a treat and stop it happening again..

I'll sort out some bar-coat/sealer for it..... But I don't think it's gonna end up in candy! ..... I'd still be painting into october if I took my time (and I think that's where I've been going wrong, trying to rush it! ), and I want if back on the road asap!
