Got a couple of hours on the bug this evening, next is to start grinding out all the lips that hold the bonnet seal and engine lid seal off on the body as going to use mexican style seals which clip on to the bonnet itself,

you need to drill the bonnet seal lip off with a spot weld drill bit, ( the milling type), or a good pair of mole grips and a sharp chisel, wiggle the seal channel side to side with a bit of force and it will break away.

then grind the remains off.

whs ^^

remove the paint with a rotary wire brush ......then you can see the little suckers ....then use a spot weld bit (nuts and bolts sell them ,but they are about £8 ) then it will just come away

this should be a feature in a mag .....talk about thinking outside the box .......the younger kids want speed and performance ....so they buy clios, and corsa's ........but martin has all this in a classic bug

i'm sure its not to everyones taste (resto-cal -cal ect)....but fair play .....a classic bug is hard enough to keep on the rd ....let alone moding it to this level ........nice one dude

I've already spoke to him about this dude.

Once the paint and interior are done I am going to write it up.
I love this car, and WizBangs enthusiasm, and the fact that he asks questions and listens.
You, young Wiz Bang are a credit to the 'yoof' of today!!
