Just finishing rubbing back the wheels ready for laquer but after a bit of advice on the final finish. Thinking of painting the insert black with silver studs and outer rim!! Or just simply appling a good coat of 2 pac laquer to make em shiny and silver all over?? Which D'u think would best suit the bug?? (swaying toward the 2nd option)

Had a stab at spraying the old bumper the same as the car to see what it would look like........Dint quite look as good as i thought it might, i did take a photo but for some reason cant transfer it from my phone at the mo!!! So think i'l be on the hunt for some chrome bumpers again soon. Still thinking of slammin the bug, currently she only has 2" lowering springs on the front and standard shocks on the back. Obviously to lower the front i really need adj.struts/inners but i dont know too much about lowering the rear, is it just a case of replacing the shocks??

I managed to sort the problems out with the bug last night and took her for an MOT today.............. Bad news she failed, But the good news only on Headlight Adjustment, a couple of split pins Missing and a nut missing on the bottom of the Ball Joint. So gonna go sort it out tonight and get it back in asap. Still fine tuning the engine but she starts and runs lovely now except for a few flat spots in the pickup, but hopefully il sort them by the weekend. All being well il have the old girl on the road by the weekend!!! I Cant Wait!!!

| A friend used to have some of those wheels, we polished them with some g7 , then g3 and finishing compound came up a treat, used an electric 7" polisher, with some water sprayed on as well. andy | |

Well took the bug for it's retest today and it passed so now is completely legal except for the Irritating part of aquiring the TAX!! Unawae that i had to go to my local DVLA office to register for historic tax i popped down to my local post office to find out about taxing the lady. Bloke at my local post office was adamant that i had to pay for my tax on the Bug and they no longer did Tax Exempt!!! (idiot!!) So i politely asked him to check again, agravated he decieded to get out the Info pack to prove he was right and was quite pissed off when he realised that i was right!! So il now be heading to the DVLA office to register for historic tax!! Such a proud moment to see my bug on the road after so long off of it, knowing all the hours spent down the garage eating and sleeping this project have finally payed off!! (The missus is also alot happier now!!!...... well until the next project anyway ) Just a few bits and bobs left to do (money permitting) like the sunvisors rear bumper etc... and she'll be finished. Gonna Blast the wheels with a good coat of laquer to shine em up til i can afford a Pro refurb. Roll on Bugfest i cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
