Only a little update ....as saturday I was helping damion pick up the squareback

The latest repair was to cut off the door skin on the passenger side .....got the new one in place ...and tacked it along the top

The Nomates Rustoration :) - Page 3 Beetleupdateforcleverchap001Desktop

had a problem with the A pillar ...which resulted me in undoing the welds and moving about 4 mm ....surprisingly this made a massive differance ...and now the door fits quite well

The Nomates Rustoration :) - Page 3 Beetleupdateforcleverchap002Desktop

my new front clip ...was really pants , it didn't even have the cut outs to get to the steering box ...so I drilled out the spot welds that held the front corner inner wings pieces on
, then using a dremmel ...I cut the holes for the access panels

The Nomates Rustoration :) - Page 3 Beetleupdateforcleverchap004Desktop

The Nomates Rustoration :) - Page 3 Beetleupdateforcleverchap005Desktop

I also managed to finish of the front bulkhead panel ...got it into position and gave it a coat of etch primer , it not welded in yet

The Nomates Rustoration :) - Page 3 Beetleupdateforcleverchap003Desktop

wish I had done more .....but you know how things go ...somtimes a few steps back before you can go forward

Ok another weekend gone Sad ....and another (small) update ....

I wasn't completely happy with the long bonnet fit ,against the front quarters ..(altho' they were'nt too bad considering the panels I'm working with)...so I decided to try the other (sadly more rusty) bonnet ...guess what ..its a better fit Rolling Eyes ...just my (non) luck ....then after welding in the front clip ,after drilling out the incorrect front bumper mounts ...I decided to see how the front wing fitment is ...and apart from the very bottom bitd being a different radius to the front valence ....I surpised even my self ...heres some piccies

I also made sure the drivers door had good gap a lined up ok .....but its defo in need of a door skin and some repairs ....i will be on to this after I finish the bulkhead ...front clip ....a pillar repairs ....so may not have many pics to show for a while No
