Are the trim holes lined up? just that in the pic it looks like the quarter holes are higher then the door holes might just be the pics..

mexican 1/4 panels have holes higher up than german panels.

RIGHT...........enough of this humour ! Cool ....this is a very serious resto tread .......well ok its my resto thread ...so not that serious ....granted ...

Latest update

since the rear qurter was welded in ....the welds have been ground flat and filled ....but you'll have to take my word as there are no pics as yet ....and with the help of scoopy ....(cheers dude) the car was rolled down the drive ...turned round and pushed back up ready to work on the other quarter ....except I don't have another quarter to fit ...and I can't get one either .....

so I have to do it with repair panels Sad ....in sections .....fortunately I was given a part quarter that had benn fitted and then removed (bullied with an air chisel) again

hers some pics of the damage and how I've started to repair it

this is the part panel ...bits air chiseled through ...and som bad patches welded in ....(this was by a profession restoration company by the way Shocked )

The Nomates Rustoration :) - Page 5 Rearquartermadefrompanels008Desktop

The Nomates Rustoration :) - Page 5 Rearquartermadefrompanels006Desktop

so not the best of panels to start with eehh?

so i started with drilling out the spot welds on the bumper mount
The Nomates Rustoration :) - Page 5 Rearquartermadefrompanels003Desktop

and the support mount
The Nomates Rustoration :) - Page 5 Rearquartermadefrompanels004Desktop

then I drilled out the spot welds that hold on the support panel ...sorry no pics

then I cut out the damage to the wheel arch
The Nomates Rustoration :) - Page 5 Rearquartermadefrompanels012Desktop

then i made a repair section from some sheet steel
The Nomates Rustoration :) - Page 5 Rearquartermadefrompanels011Desktop

The Nomates Rustoration :) - Page 5 Rearquartermadefrompanels010Desktop

then i started to weld it in

The Nomates Rustoration :) - Page 5 Rearquartermadefrompanels013Desktop

welds ground back
The Nomates Rustoration :) - Page 5 Rearquartermadefrompanels014Desktop

then i started to repair the rear quarter ...with a few small repair panels

The Nomates Rustoration :) - Page 5 Rearquarterbeingfitted003DesktopRes

The Nomates Rustoration :) - Page 5 Rearquartermadefrompanels002Desktop

Top work stevie boy top work..

One word though dude, your spring plate are at risk of cracking where you've notched them because you've cut them in to a point thats where they'll crack... So if i was you i'd make it more rounded...
I'll try and find a pic of what i mean..

Well spotted Rich.
You need a radii in there Steve-O. I would suggest at least 20mm rad if possible. A sharp corner like that is just going to attract all the stress running through the plate like iron filings to a magnet!
