| got the engine finnished today then thought i would just turn it over by hand to check everything was alright, it turned over twice then went tight and made a loud creaking noise so... i stuck it in the car anyway and cranked it over to see if the noise would go away it just got worse then pulled of the fuel pump as that was the last thing i fitted before the noise started and found i had put the wrong lenght pushrod in (it is a centimeter longer than it needed to be) so i swapped it with the correct one and its now all quiet well as quiet as it can be with open headers on | |

| Sh1t dude bet your heart missed a beat when it went tight.. Just glad it's in and running.. I've never seen the point in fitting a exhaust to a engine you haven't heard running. | |

you could say that all i need to do now is tune the carbs up and set the timing correctly and the engine is done. my neighbour came round today and told me he was around his mates house about 1/4 of a mile up the road when i got the engine running and the guy who had just moved in came round to ask what the noise was and his mate said "thats only the kid down the road tuning his car dont worry about it"

| heres my original todo list: weld the fuel tank in higher uplower the front some more build and fit 1641 enginerepair accident damage to o/s/ffit spoilerfit smaller front tyres get some dbs logos/signwrighting on thereso all thats left to do is fit new front tyres and tune the engine and its done dont know if it will be ready for the club meet as i am waiting for some heat insulation wrap for the fuel pipes as they run dangerously close to the exhaust (about 1cm clearence) where they go in to the carbs | |

| the chop is on hold at the moment as i am very happy with the look of the car as it is for now but maybe over the winter the grinder might come out - Quote :
- dam strieght!!! see it you can go lower then the 5inch chop we have!
if i chop it i will only take out 4 inches as that was the lowest chop allowed by the nhra in the 70's and i want to make the rod look like an oldskool dragster so "authentic" 4 inch chop is the only way

| reaction times are all between 0.6 and 0.7 seconds which aint bad considering how the lights work for rwyb getting 2.4 second 60ft times every run aswell the car is so consistant its really fun to drive and i won a few of the races aswell which is the best feeling will fit the linelock for bug jam which should improve reaction times as i was having trouble getting the handbrake off as there is no room between the seats (also will be able to do burnouts then ) i have loads of video of the runs but cant load up as on dialup connection here so will bring the camera along to club meet for you to watch | |
