this is due to a fat bastard causing the torsion bars to sag! Normally shows up as front passenger wing closer to wheel.

Another thing off the list....getting there

Remove 2 x pairs of castor shims
Fit new fuel tank (after powder coat) and run new line from tank
Fit bumpers (after irons are powder coated)
Fit bumper bars
Fit starter motor
Torque up rear hub nuts
Fill engine with oil
Fill gearbox with oil
Hook up all wiring
Fit decklid (after painting the inside of lid)
Repaint rear valance (took a knocking from installing the engine)
Fit breather box
Fit Coil
run braided lines
Connect up rear fuel lines
Fit top pulley and fan belt
Adjust clutch cable
Buy and fit centre caps
Re tap rear hub
Fix handbrake

had another couple of hours on the bug got some more done

Remove 2 x pairs of castor shims
Fit new fuel tank (after powder coat) and run new line from tank
Fit bumpers (after irons are powder coated)
Fit bumper bars

Fill gearbox with oil
Hook up all wiring

Cheers Crewy....still chipping away.....going to sort out more this week but had a good night on the bug

An update for folks who may be interested

Remove 2 x pairs of castor shims
Fit new fuel tank (after powder coat) and run new line from tank
Fit bumpers (after irons are powder coated)
Fit bumper bars
Fit starter motor
Torque up rear hub nuts
Fill engine with oil
Fill gearbox with oil
Hook up all wiring
Fit decklid (after painting the inside of lid)
Fit breather box
Fit Coil
run braided lines
Connect up rear fuel lines
Fit top pulley and fan belt
Adjust clutch cable
Re tap rear hub
Fix handbrake


Still to do

Get an MOT Rolling Eyes
Repaint rear valance (took a knocking from installing the engine)
Touch up a few areas of paint chips
Clean up chrome work and polish to feck
Get horn to work Rolling Eyes
Get front indicator to work
Get hold of some centre caps (harder than you think Rolling Eyes )
Refit rear seat

I'm aiming for an MOT on friday affraid gonna dfrop it off early and pray that its goes through so that I can drive it to caldicott this saturday, i wont have the rear seat fitted but i'll stick my trimmed panel in the back, paint wont be touched and no centre caps fitted either

wish me luck folks lol!

cheers for the words of encouragement folks

been out on the bug again tonight, MOT is booked for thursday

Fixed the indicator, broke the horn push on the steering wheel, luckily nomates is going to loan me a steering wheel, cheers dude

so my pre MOT list is as follows


Get horn to work
Minor tune up
Test run
Bolt up the seat belts
Fit the borrowed steering wheel
Stick the pins in the rear hub nuts
Pump the tyres up
refit the rear seat trim panel


Got a wedding on friday night and i'm driving, so i'll be up fresh and early on saturday morning to give the car a good clean and polish and then i'll take a drive over the bridge
