| In 3 easy steps well to be honest more like 20 steps as I dont do thinks simply, a quick update and where i am with the bug. The 2387 motor has been sold, yesterday I picked up a freshly rebuilt 1600cc twin port with twin carbs, it needs a good clean up and a freshen up on the tin ware but other than that its fine. Nomates leant me his awesome Transit I went to Nuneaton to collect the motor, got nit back and realised that it would be too haevy for Michelle to lift, so i took the engine apart on the back of the van Its started to clean up okay, going to change the fanshroud and the rear tin as I dont run heaters, J tubes will be fitted and i'll probably stick a stock style exhaust on there.... tin ware will be powder coated in the brown which i had on my old engine. whilst i'm putting that together i've got to sort out the GT box i've bought from nomates, going to remove the whole rear end of my bug, put my axles and tubes and disc brakes onto the new GT box, going to clean up and paint the GT box first and stick it straight in, going to keep it solid mounted coz i cant be arsed to change the mounts once thats done i'll fit the engine and sell the old prostreet box all of the other Hi Po bits will be coming off in the next couple of weeks and be sold off, stock shifter going back on and stock seat belts going back on Bumpers will be fitted once i find some. Last on the list will be the 'STANCE' instead of polishing the empis i'm going to paint them a nice silver/grey colour, get the tyres change to something more suitable and then i'll lower the back end DONE, its going to take a couple of months for sure, but hoping to be on the road for bristol volksfest pics later folks | |

| Folks i'm finally getting somewhere Heres a couple of pics of my 1600 twinport which has tidied up nicely, its not mint by any standards, but its tidy enough.....going to stick it in the corner of the garage for a couple of weeks while I swap the gear box over Coil will go on the firewall to hide some holes from before along with a polsihed up bugpack breather, i have enough stainless braided oil line left to use so thats going on...... | |

| Right then a quick update....no pics yet....you will have to wait until next weekend.
The de cal looking is kind of soothing to the soul.....its almost like coming off ciggies.... a little at a time
So this weekend I swapped over the rear tyres....the white lettered MT's have gone and replaced with some 205's which came off Scoopies cab originally.
I have also prepped the gear box which is now ready for the transplant.....I'm hoping to swap it over next Monday on the bank Holiday....going to lower the rear end at the same time.....my smart tyres will be fitted as well next weekend........
Then its just the engine to go in.....
The only problem i have is with the empi 5 spokes....when i took the rears off and had the tyres changed i noticed how bad they were looking......they definately need a tickle
So i have taken the descision to order some JGE GeeBees (gas burners), i'll stick these on and sell the 5 spokes
Wish me luck folks | |
