| EMO - '06 Resto (Get that thing back on the road, NOW...) Ok, here she is. No doubt you've all read the story of getting her back ( https://blitzen.editboard.com/viewtopic.forum?t=118), now gotta get her ready for an MOT. Target is to be on the road for the next meet, theres still a LOT to do! Plenty of welding work to keep Dave busy. The more we poke about the more we find. Check out his handy work - From this:To This:Dave's a welding god!!!! The sills were completely gone, but plating them seemed too bodgy for Dave. However, I did promise a full body off resto at some stage, to keep him happy! He's causing himself a lot of headache in the future with fantastic welding like this, how is the body ever coming off?! I love Dave! more to come... | |

| heres the welding work to the drivers inner sill. Again, welding the body to the floor, hiding all the rust underneath!!! Should look fine when its cleaned up and painted. Dave rocks! I wish EMO was as good as Dave's 66 Dave rules! No way is Mr MOT inspector finding a problem with any of that work. However.... | |

| ....there appeared to be a slight problem on the passenger sill on the underside. Dave thought he'd give it a little poke, now theres a big pile of rust on the drive where Emo used to be!!! Slightly worrying. IF that can be taken care of this week and IF the engine casings come back by fri all sorted and IF theres no problems with sorting the brakes or wiring, it might be MOT'd for the next meet. Best get back to it....! | |

| Check this out, there might be a huge rust problem but after fitting a new light lens and cleaning up the number plate I'm happy cos he looks much nicer. Has anyone else noticed how the passenger side looks higher than the drivers?! | |

| Progress has slowed down a bit tonight due to the shitty MIG playin up! At first it seemed like it was the thermo switch trippin it out! But after a bit it started trippin out more and more, without really gettin goin! Then we discovered with a bit of a kick it would work again! So kick it we did! This was fine for a bit. But after a while it needed a kick every time I wanted to ark up! And by the time Sid kicked it so far down the drive the torch would no longer reach where I was workin, it was time to take a look at it! Took it apart to take a look. Can't really see anythin wrong with it, just full of dust and shit! I'll give it a blow out tomorrow and just fiddle with the conections, see if that works! Anyone got any ideas? I can weld, but I'm no f#ckin sparky!!!!!!! | |

| It was good to see you guys today. EMO was in a bad way when you got him, you and Dave are doing an outstanding job (Well mainly Dave) only kidding I am sure you are doing something (only kidding again). Cant wait to see EMO on the road and I am sure if you keep your current pace up its only gonna be a matter of weeks |

| He's getting there, slowly. Pretty much took care of the electrics today, just gotta tidy them up a bit. Hopefully with get the last few bits of welding done tomorrow (i keep saying this but we keep finding more) and bleed the brakes.
The big thing is we're still waiting on the engine casings. The news as of this morning is that they had the engine casings back yesterday but are waiting for the bearings to come in. Apparently that'll be tomorrow at the latest. Hmmmm, we'll see... | |

| With EMO, work and trying to do the new website I've been a bit slack with updating this thread... EMO is getting there, albeit slowly! The electrics are all working, could just do with a bit of a tidy up. The welding was stopped cos of a problem with the welder, but Dave called SIP support and they've sent the bit FOC, which was nice of them! Get that fitted and can finish the little bits that still need doing. The Engine casings did come back. They sent the wrong cam barings but thankfully Dave had some spare oversized lying about. If all goes well (nothing has so far!), the engine should be in at the weekend. I personally cant wait to take him for a spin. Dave cant wait to have some arse end fun with him! If we sat around less drinking tea we might get more done to the cars!!! | |

| Time to get the new bearings on and rebuild the crank.Heating the gears up makes them expand ever so slightly... ...so if you're quick you can just slide them on. Sometimes a good whack with a huge piece of bar adds peace of mind! And here we have a finished crank, ready to mount | |
