| IMO Olly the bus needs to be a bit lower but not slammed and the sign writing needs to be done with paint/brush so it looks aged rather than vinyl. I think that would look awesome then, like it is a barn find that has had a damn good polish! | |

| Yeah I'm coming round to the same way of thinking. Ive just had a chat with the artist dowstairs and she;s going to have a think about how much she;d charge me to draw an outline then I can go round and paint it in. Her work is fantastic so I have no doubts she can pull it off. The height in the pic is where my decal chap scanned it in as a guide. The bus will be staying at the height its at now, becuase the rear bolts are on so tight that the rear can never be dropped (as Rich will tell you). One day I might take it to a garage with pneumatic wrenchs etc and see if they can do it. But 1st priority is to get it painteed, MOT'd and then sign written. Glad you like my ideas. Been hard to communicate them. | |

| ..... also, as the above is a draft. I'm going to move the eyes into the centre of the sliding door, and remove the word 'Moon equipped' over the top of them. I'm also going to add a mini set of mooneyes to the driver/passengers door bottom. | |

| that would look way cool if you paint it you should use 1-shot sign writing paint should last for years plus you can age it with 1200 grit wet and dry |

| Ok, so another 2 hours in the workshop later, and this is how far I'm upto: It felt like sacralege to rub down my door, it took me about 10 hours to get it straight and painted beuatifully, then 'vrrrrm' off it all comes, but you have to go back to go forward The reason I look shitted in the pic is that I didnt wear a mask for rubing down, and had the taste of 3 different kinds of paint. For reference, halfords black primer smells almost bitter, Hycote yellow smells almost sweet, but leaves a bad after taste, and old vw yellow tastes and smells like cack.... on the plus note... ta da, all rubbed down and ready for priming. Priming this saturday, not going to coat the whole vas, just the areas where work has been done- tp avoid ctreating more work than is neccassery, so Ive probably bought too much primer, but hey ho. | |

| Paints here! Haven't opened it yet though, as I'm at work and it came to my work address. On the plus note I brought it into the office and the celly vapours are perspiring a tad so it smells bootiful! | |

| Well, fuck me sideways I'm tired... but very happy! Todays mission was priming the van. Decided not to do the bits that didn't need doing, as I'm puttting yellow back on top of yellow. At first I was dissappointed as I was desperate to see it all in one colour, even if it was just primer white. 5 hours of sanding later (to flat the paint), I am VERY glad I opted not to do the whole van. No pics yet, but will get some Monday. Its starting to look like a different van already! Only 6 days til full respray day! Sooooo excited! I can also see why garages rarely do a 'cheap respray' as the amount of time, effort and materials make it a much bigger job than you think. On the plus side, I was pleasently pleased to see my filler and prep work was reasonably up to scratch, as many (if not all) of the original dents/ bumps/ rust and repairs are now all but invisible. Big smiles from me. | |
