ive got two ghias on their way over from south africa right now

are ghias all they sold out there?

Used a company in Kenn, just outside of Clevedon called Bristol Sports & Classic Ltd. You may have seen them in the local paper, they had a firework factory next door which exploded last year - only a few weeks after I got my car back!
Pleased with results now but final bill ended up being 50% more than they estimated and that was after hammering them down from what they really wanted to charge. Shows the importance of getting a fixed price quote as opposed to an estimate. Not an easy thing to do as you never know what you might find once you start removing paint.
Only welding needed was one headlamp bowl and the edge below the front lower windscreen, Oh and a couple of reflector mount holes which someone had previously fitted. Not bad for a 40 year old car!!

no worries ,I will keep everyone posted of the progress..............forgot to mention mine needed a headlamp bowl repair as well .....a dust cart hit mine in the passenger wing in south africa....but your right ,not bad for 40 year old's

see it all happen is kenn , maltloaf has some of the guys working on his bus at the moment as the guys from Bristol Sports & Classic Ltd are camped out over the road from me.

hopeful going over there soon to use the ramp to sort out the tracking and paint the underside of the floor.

Coincidence, I've just been talking to someone at work who was there at the weekend talking to the owner about the fire. The guy lost his Studebaker in the fire apparently

just cought up on this threrad as I needed some ghia 'porn' ...and it rocks ...shame you missed the cruise but you'll have to come to a meet ..(I'll bring the tissues ,impy)........mines still in paint 'Dave the paint ' has taken pic's .....but is unfortunately computer iliterate ...so we'll have to wait...hope mine comes out half as good as this one...

Well..........originally me and moup's went to "dave the paints " to pick up some colour samples to bring back to lisa....after chatting to dave about dark silver colours to bring out the chrome bits ect......he showed us a colour chip of smart car 'silber metallic'....and all three of us went somthing like "cooooor!!!.....that's it ...that's the colour".....so we went home to tell lisa we had picked the colour for her...(first mistake)...then after she had a fliddy fit on me ,i decided to phone moup's the following day to ask dave to hold fire on the colour...only to find he had already bought 3 litres (or somthing like that) of silber metallic paint...and it cost over 300 pounds....so silber metallic it is......and lisa has grown to accept this (nearly)...it has taken three months...but she is nearly speaking to me again!!!!
