The 66 Chop Top!!!

Always loved this chop and its gonna look sweat

very cool car Dude ...........just a little love needed .......in fact there is a little bit of 'nomates' in this car ....(no car shagging gags!!!).........paint job and a spruce up ,wicked ....you should have seen the attention it got last year at vanwest (i think it was)or was it the year before

Here's a few pics I took for the chop for Matt last nite, showing what the narrowed front end looks like with a skinny steel rim on







Just a shame it looks like at least the o/s front drum will need replacing as one of the bolt holes is threaded

Well, last night i pulled out the interior ready for a damn good scrub and started taking her to bits ready for Rich to paint...
Test fitted some 4.5j steels on the front - Ricks got a pic - really nice tuckage!!!!
Managed to strip the thread in one of the bolt holes - new O/S front drum needed!!!

7 days to Dubs.... will it be done?!!!

That's what I did with Sharon's car when we went to Bug Boogie & the rest of the bolts worked loose on the trip to Reading .... and the rear wheel fell off as we crossed the cattle grid onto the show!
and we had to come back on a recovery truck

So after that I wouldn't ever chance doing it again buddy, but if you want to it's completely up to you fella, your call ..... but I strongly recommend swopping a new drum on. it's only a half hour job & well worth the piece of mind it will give for the effort!
I shudder to think what would have happened if it'd happened on the motorway rather than a forest track doing 5 miles an hour!!!

Just spoke to Rich and he's a bit busy @ the mo now, the mini is back
So for dubs, the chop will still be mottled red
I'll get the paint sorted after the summer

So for now, it'll be going onto skinny steels, cheeky stinger poking out the back, tidy the interior and strap 'er up and enjoy her for what we have left of the summer.... She'll be hibernating over the winter as she's about as watertight as a seive!
I'll think of silly things to do to her over the coming weeks, i've still got the turbo, intercooler and engine block sat in my kitchen

spent yesterday afternoon at the unit which was quite productive.... Scoops' old seats from the cab are now sitting pretty in the chop and looking Fooking awesome.. cheers Rich

Put the 4into1 header on and tried the Stinger - sat down and giggled like a little girl at how loud it was!!! Probably not brilliant for everyday use

tonight the wings and bonnet should go on, then there's just the brake drum (on order from heritage) and changing the wheels over to sort before dubs at the castle...

i've been a bit rubbish with updates recently.... but things are starting to come together now

just bought a supercool american roofrack late 50's low- bow type and been gifted some Phaaaat rear tyres (cheers dude!) - i just need to find some wide rear steelies.... got some other goodies in the offing to bring it all together... slam front tyres going on next week too with a bit of luck... oh to have more than a 6 inch turning circle
I'll start taking pics at the weekend (i still need to get my camping gear out of it and sort out my workshop bay!)

theres some 8in banded wide 5 wheels on ebay at the moment if there any good to you

too wide for me but simonabt is looking for some... can you pm him the link dude..
