Believe me, after nearly 4 hours of being shouted at and 1 broken light later, i wanted to torch the bloody thing!

Sorry correction on the last post, i wanted to torch HIM. The car was still in my good books!

As I'm suffering with bird flu at the moment, I've not really been up to doing much after a hard days work! ... Fortunatly work is dead, so that consists of makin parts for the bug!



Time for a custom gear shifter!

Started off by turning out the components for the bottom of the lever!




Clamped them in the vice then TIG'd em togeather


With the boring bit done time for the fun bit!
Heated and then twisted a length of 16mm stainless steel bar! (sorry there's no action pics )





I then welded it togeather and gave it a polish!





Still gotta sort out a knob to go on top. Maybe a knuckle duster or dice!
Felt very wierd to use at first, but cool as f*ck!!!

It's about 700mm long! I just love that Big Daddy Roth/Old Skool hotrod kinda look!
It'll get a couple of inches trimed off when I sort something to go on the top of it!

Finaly got round to doing the other side of the bonet this evening!
... It's pretty much the same as page 1 of this thread, but the pics are from a different angle!

And I did get to use the english wheel to fabricate the repair sections! It made it so much easier!
