what ya need to know about split charge as ive put on on me van so may know what you need to know!

i need to find out if its ok to run a split charge system on a car with a dynamo not an alternator.

ahh that i dont know i shouldnt have thought it would be a problem depends on the output of the dynamo

not much use i know but if ya need help with any of the wiring side of things shoulb be able to help on that

I can't see it being a problem to be honest.......they only take charge when the ignition is on.

Dunno if it would work properly as the charge from a dynamo varies according to the revs where as an alternator is a more constant charge rate..

Convert it over.
You can get alternators in a dynamo sized body now.

where can you get them from?

however it charges the normal battery the same as an alternator would!

the only thing is that you may have to rigup a relay and switch method of split charging rather than running it by a voltage sensing diode!

you don't need a voltage sencing diode .....you would be better off getting a nib jockling anode supresser in a negative pulse only ....as these are far more reliable

just a little update
Got it into the workshop today.took front beam out and cut it up to use bits to mount the type1 beam without cutting the frame head about.me and vince got the new beam test fitted.

Coolio.

done some more today.firstly fitted hubs and wheels to check height which is where i want it with beam sat on floor when fully dropped.then removed the beam again for vince to finish the welding and sorting the shock mounts.then gave it a coat of red oxide.ready to spray black and refitting tomorrow.heres some pics for now .i think wurz has some better pics

Is there any space in there to narrow without any body mods??

i keep it stock width.if you wanted to narrow it i think you would need to mount the shocks on the inner wings,make up new front body mounts and alter the framehead.
