| Tracking now done .Ive re-set the valves, adjusted the chokes and connected the vacuum pipe from the carb to dissy. now i just need to get it running better,it starts fine and revs freely when hot or cold but when its being driven it spluttering like its running out fuel.its got about half a tank of fuel.i'm going to change the fuel filter first, then change the pump.its a 1600 with twin solex 32 pdsit 2/3 carbs. Has anyone else had this problem? or have an idea on how to cure it. Would anyone be willing to come and have a look at tuning it ? (cash waiting for fuel money etc) | |

| I think Ive sorted it now.Cleaned fuel tank, fuel lines, stripped carbs down and found a jet floating around in the float chamber.Refitted the carbs when checked the points only to find the distributor was loose so fixed that and set timing by ear. Then took it for test drive.Drives much smoother with no spluttering. | |

| Went for another drive today and it started to play up again.this time its not spluttering, more like misfiring and then the oil light started to flicker on tick-over.but i did get a delivery today from coolair including new ht leads, points, rotor arm, condenser, plugs and distributor cap so i will get that fitted in the next couple of days as well as swapping the coil over from my beetle. | |

| Well its been a long time since i last updated this so here we go. A couple of months ago i fitted the sound system with most of it hidden including headunit, amp, sub, front and rear speakers. i also fitted a sunvisor. over the last couple of weeks with help from Dan (aka lowriderbug)and Graham(aka Meerkat) i've fitted a single pump hydraulic suspension setup and yesterday with help from Vince (billet56) i lowered the rear 3 outer splines. thanks for the help guys | |
