| Well I thought as I don`t seem to be driving it very much recently, I would strip it down and give it an overhaul, hopefully this will include the following
1/ a new paintjob 2/ a new fuel tank in the front 3/ a replacement front beam (no rust/weld) 4/ redo the interior 5/ redo the rear window and make it look better 6/ raise the suspension up
and possibly
7/ get a new wheel/tyre combo(if funds allow)
but at the mo I will start with the basics and strip everything off the body, and prepare to split the body from the chassis.
Pics to follow | |

| Yes, definitely metalflake, just not sure what colour yet, although I have a few ideas, think I am going with just a simple 1 colour scheme, without any stripes like it has now. | |

| What sort of wheels are thinking of dude? Some big ole Ferck off Porsche Cups polished up would look cool. Are you planning to do it in a resto style or put a modern twist into it?? | |

| Pretty sure it's on a wide 5 pattern Imp'...........I think Phil's chassis is older than time itself!!! He runs a pre suffix/prefix type number plate if I remember rightly. | |

| My buggy has everyone confused , I think its a 70-72 chassis(Squirrel will know which), but it has a `54 number plate, but having got all previous DVLA records it has actually had about 4 different numberplates. It now has ESL 988-a 1954 dated plate, cause thats when its was first registered. Confusing or what !!!!!!!!!! So yes Impy is right in that it is 4 stud. | |

| I would so sell that plate and get a new age related plate assigned to it by the DVLA. What would it be worth do you think?? Got to be a couple of grand...... | |

What would it be worth do you think?? Got to be a couple of grand...... Depends scoops......sometimes the DVLA are shifty b*ggers & give you an age related BUT non-transferable (ie non-sellable!) plate!!

how will i know if this is the case or not ???? Have a look at the V5, if theres nothing on there then give the DVLA a ring. I had this happen, i had an age related plate on an Alfa Romeo that the DVLA had allocated after the original reg number had been sold off.......it was non-transferable! Shame cos' it was an unusual number & i had a few people wanna buy it off me!

| F**K, F**K, F**K !!!!!!!! Just checked my V5, and it says non-transferable, so I guess I gotta keep it. Shame, cause I had planned on using the cash to do the buggy up. Its worth £1500 too | |

| Here they are at last Decided to change front beams, to get rid of this and also do away with the lowered swayaways. New lhd beam courtesy of `Stockwood vw's` off here, which needed converting to rhd once the welding was complete time for some anti-rust paint, also waxoyled the inside of the shock towers(should slow the rust) I am also replacing all the trackrods and balljoints while I am at it.

| Got the beam bolted back in, just waiting for the new trackrods, balljoints, and bumpstops to arrive, hopefully in time to fit them before CTTP | |

| FINALLY got the ball-joints replaced and refitted to the buggy, sadly not in time for tonight's meet though.(tracking needs setting properly) Pics to follow, next task is to raise the rear back up, and fit some coil-over shox.
