started the engine change tonight when i got home from work. were easier than i thought all bolts/nuts jubille clips came undone still have all fingers knuckles intact,used a ratchet strap, trolly jack and a big helping of gravity as the strap decided to give up


a bit of cleaning in here to be done






don't think it will go back as easy does anyone have an engine lift i could use one evening would be greatly appreciated

Nice one cant help you with a hoist though dont need them with a bug

why you take the engine out then for a scooby convertion

nah can't afford to that at the moment, a head gasket has gone keeps over heating blows all that brown sh1t out the expansion bottle that then some how gets covered over the back window.

the fourking thing needs fixing again

that it defo called the four king(s) van engine all back in this afternoon new plugs, cap, arm gear box oil, starter bush oil an filters. hours spent trying to start, nothing sparks there changed the fuel pump got fuel but the dizzy is lose so going try tomorrow again. any one got a timing light to set it once it starts

Yeah mate no probs

yeah got it to start eventually changed the carb and it started
filled it with water and it poured straight out the bottom
new water pump last year (may be the one before that) i put on done, 5 miles before i broke that van took the engine out and stored it, the seals are shot in it. water was coming out as fast as i could pour it in

got the electrical thing sorted wednesday night could have been the coil, the wires to it or the carb, took it to pieces and cleaned it started straight away so not sure which sorted it put it goes now
also changed the seats,got these from a saab 9000,
for the bargin price of a tenner each

the future is definatlely wedged shaped

found the keys yesterday couldn't find the batterys which i took to start the bug in december so that must have been the last time i started it. got a battery from my brothers and it fired up first time so i started the clean up polishing off the black run marks from the window rubbers and clearing out the crap from the inside. will tax it tomorrow more cleaning. and hopefully get gearbox back soon

changed the alternator today that packed up on the way back from plymfest these jobs can't be rushed. have got the recond gearbox back just sat on the shed floor waiting to be fitted

wahed it today before the bristol cruise, the green stuff growing on the roof wasn't weed

seeing as loads of peeps are working really hard on projcets at the moment i decided to








wash the van again today, thats twice in 3 months

and a special treat of hover all the sand and wood out of the inside.

the gutting thing is it ran bloody great today and it didn't lose any water

its mending itself
