| This may not read right cos it's bit's cut and pasted from the original resto thread.. I bought it from Paul you the Paul i mean Paul the cock.. Seeing that eva isn't far from being finished we thought we had better get a new project So we found a nice little resto project... She's a 1957 oval deluxe from Sweden.. Right then she is completely stripped body off, every bolt off, so I've got a floor, a shell, a pile of panels, and boxes of parts.. She is complete apart from engine, gearbox, headlights, semaphores, wheels and brakes.... Comes with a 4 inch narrowed adjustable front beam 8-). Will be picking her up on friday morning. Here's the pics we have at the mo.. Frizz thinks it will welded and pretty much back together in about a month ??? :-/ Not sure on plan's for her to many idea's. Low of course Not sure about wheels Was after a rat-look but think she to clean and straight 1600 twin port Original colour Watch this space Got back off our hols on friday so time to play.. I washed all the dust off and the paint is not to bad.. | |

| Cleaned up the o/s inner arches. With a flap sanding disk. And welded up the o/s panel where the rear wing bolts to Cleaned the front o/s arch and welded the panel where the front wing bolts to.. Also welded the front end of the heater channel... Then we flipped her round so i can start on the other side.... I cleaned both n/s arches and welded up the front panel where the wing bolts to... And the rear as well... Here's some pic's before the previous owner stripped her for resto.... Just spent the evening dragging her on her side down the side of the house in the back garden, to stop the local kid watching me welding they don't believe it will damage their eye's..... So she's out the back now gonna build some kinda shelter to work under in the rain.... Been off work so got the grinder and welder out. Replaced the n/s rear body mount and reinforcement panel, the mount had been butchered and behind the support panel was holed.. The rear bumper mount and rear corner was replaced as well as it was rotten behind the mount and right in the corner. Replaced the o/s rear body mount and reinforcement panel, the mount had been butchered and behind the support panel was holed.. The rear bumper mount and rear corner was replaced as well as it was rotten behind the mount and right in the corner. I've been out and cut the spare wheel well and the bottom of the front panel out due to slight rusting Replaced the spare wheel section that was rotton. And also replaced the lower section of the front panel. That means that all the welding on the body is finished so time to start the floor... 8-) The front panel repaired I cut a section of the o/s floor out. Then welded the new section in. Cut out the section of the n/s rear floor.. And then replaced it with the new panel... Repaired the n/s front floor only a hole 1 cm square... And a plate in the o/s rear floor... Now all the welding is finished the floor is all painted top and bottom... Here's the pic's of the floor.... And painted and fitted the narrowed front beam... | |

| The windows are fitted with new genuine rubbers, original chrome inserts, and newly cut windscreen one got damaged by my heavy hands... The original chrome trim fitted with new clips.... The rear wings are fitted with new stainless bolts and new black beading, rear lights and popes nose painted and fitted... All door handles are fitted... Rear us spec bumper fitted and front just placed on..... Started to sort the front wings had big reactions... > We've got some more bit's... New wheel cylinders, brake shoes and fitting kit... More stainless bolts for the wings and running boards... Complete new wiring loom.... The front wings are in primer with no reactions this time so abit more prep and they will be in paint and fitted.... 8-) The wings are painted, polished and fitted with new black beading and stainless bolts.... Start to put the dash back together aswell. The new loom is in and she now runs The running board's are fitted. The brake's are rebuilt and bled. Bump steer fitted. Fuel tank in place. And despite a few thinking she was too low to get off the drive i drove her off and back on again. Here's some more pic's with the running board's fitted. | |

| Not done much to her for a while to much work not enough play or day light anymore > Just been play with the electrics getting thing's wired up also fitted the steering column wheel... Right then just a little update, Wiper motor fitted. washer with electric pump. All the wiring now sorted everything work's. Rear indicators fitted. Highered the front suspension to low to go on the mot ramp. Then last Friday took it for the mot and she failed on, Hand brake not working, Front brakes out of balance, Steering to tight, Excessive rear camber, Wipers didn't work, No number plate, So i sorted it all. Fitted two new hand brake cable's, Adjusted front bakes, Stripped cleaned and regreased the front hubs and king pin's, Highered the rear suspension, There was nothing wrong with the wiper's work fine, It's not registered so can have plate's they didn't understand unregistered use the chassis number Took it back in today and she PASSED. So got all the paperwork and popped to Exeter DVLA but they need to inspect ALL age related vehicle's now so have got it booked in for Monday morning they say the paper work will all be sorted by Wednesday. Took her to Exeter DVLA and had her inspected all is fine and they sorted all the paper work then and there got the tax disk so will be getting some plates made up tomorrow so she's on the road and cruising. Cheers Andy me love you long time All sorted on the road today number plate's turned up this morning so i fitted the alternator and changed the oil cooler seal's due to a slight leak (A litre and half of oil on the drive in less then 2 minutes : ) Here's some pic's after the school run (got blagged in to fitting the rear seat first thing this morning cos the kids wanted to go in style) Went out and took some pic's for the insurance and thought i'd share them.... | |
