Why not try some Auto-glym plastic/rubber treatment, it might help stop that.
A couple of good coats of wax on the body may well help too.

I think it looks great Kate, well worth the wait.
Can't wait to see it. Have fun driving and being aircooled again buddy!!

i will have a look at the auto glym at work tmz cos its 3 for 2 but i spoke to a customer who sprays cars and he said that i wasnt allowed to wax it for months he said just wash with water only.

Hmmm, good point. I would say the Auto-Glym resin polish would be okay though after a week as it is a non-abrasive polish as opposed to the actual wax in a pot type as they take a few microns off each time it is poslished.......just my two penneth and I would definately recommend talking to someone who know what they are talking about!!! lol!

Thats rubbish you can wash, polish, wax the paint the same day it's painted, well thats what you learn at college anyway and what i've always been tought in the years i worked in the motor trade..
To be honest it dosen't matter about non-abrasive polish, G3 is really really abrasive and you have to use that with a machine polisher and thats the first polish painted cars get with in the first month the G7/10 then final cut and then a top wax..

Ive always learned that as soon as the paint is dry you can flat and polish straight away and that has been in a couple of body shops Suspect

I G3's mine within 2 hours of my respray, should have left it a day or 2 in theory but I was like a kid at a sweet shop and couldnt help myself. Did it no harm at all.

I want to be the first to say I love that rear window cowl. Alweays wanted a baja with one of those on, getting rare now. Smile

Having seen this in the flesh tonight, I can honestly say the crewkid has done himself proud, and Kate is a very lucky girl to own such a cracking motor.
