And here is the new headlining...



I still can't decide whether to run 15" split wheels, or aftermarket alloys.. If I keep the steels they would be powdercoated white...

Opinions welcomed on this subject..

I still can't get my head round the purpose of the rear side reflector, the ones I've seen before are on the corner panel, so is you look at your last pic it's would be position further up and back so it's level with the front one.

The rear reflector isn't a reflector, it's a running light......most have been decommisioned though

What is its purpose being a working light?

Repeater, indicator?

The Yanks like things to be lit up so they can be seen.

What, so its on when the head lights are are on, or do you mean when then vehicle is running they come on?

I think they come on with the sidelights and headlights

they are side marker lights just like on hgv's over here
all yank cars have the indicators lit up all the time and side markers, just their crappy laws

Is it to remind them they are still along side or passing a vehicle, just incase they forgot due to.........mmmmmmmmmcdonalds!

I still honestly can't see why the rear light is positioned where it is?

Martin, I have them immune too. They are a different shape and in a slightly different place but serve the same purpose, the front is a reflector and the rear is a running light which illuminates when side or main lights are on.

This is how last night went with my daughter, aged 27 months... I think she's got the VW bug already..!

She’s sat in her high chair just finished her dinner and suddenly out of the blue starts talking about my bus...

“Daddy’s bus in garage” (repeat x 4 or 5 times)

“Daddy’s bus broken, daddy fix bus” (repeat x 4 or 5 times)

“Daddy go outside and fix bus now!” (repeat x 4 or 5 times)

“I want to see Daddy’s bus”


So we go outside to the garage to see the bus.. she has to look inside it too...


On the way back into the house – Daughter crying because she wants to stay out in the garage with the bus a bit longer – “I help Daddy fix Bus.. I help fix the wheels”

And once back inside the house “ I help Daddy fix bus, I help fix doors, I help fix wheels”

So cute, and all completely unprovoked, we weren’t at all talking about the bus at the time... (for a change!!)

Front Bumper re-assembled this evening with new joining strips, new step rubbers (both from Custom and Commercial) and a new set of Stainless Steel bolts bought for me by my SiL..

I bought the spot lamp at VoWo in 2012, it is held on by a no-drill bracket bought from 'Doris' on the earlybay.com forum..

I can see a point in them as they are positioned to be seen, but the ones on Shortys are almost hidden by the bumper?

Si your bus looks fucking awesome in that pick, are you not at risk of losing rear hub caps on a regular basis?
