Even tho' I have VW's coming out of my bottom at the moment ...........the Karmann Ghia comes back from the bodyshop NEXT WEEK!!! .............Who would be up for helping me put the window's back in .......pretty please .....tea ,coffee or beer on offer

I guess you guys might already have you own techniques but I found that KY Jelly and parachute string allowed me to get all of the windows in my bay within 2 hours. That included the windscreen all with new window rubbers. Just incase you have not tried that method before

so matt does that mean that the van has the windows back in!!

The method I use is waxoyl...(instead of ky jelly)...as this lubricates and then seals ....with nylon type string (just like parachute rope)

Yep, not uploaded any pics yet but windows in, dash in but not wired up and I am on to the engine, brakes and supension now.

Oh, and you had better make sure you actually have some tea bags dude!

lift you all up with excitment...............then drop you like a stone ..........the karmann ghia will be back NEXT week .....just heard from "dave the paint"......a few small set backs with other work related probs means ...( and this really does me a favour)....next week wednesday is the earliest...it will be done.........so I will post next when it finally arrives (to avoid disapointment ).......so just wait for some news

getting really excited.......the double glazing is going in as promised....(shame the front door wasn't the first bit to be done,as it is only made from ply and clingfilm)....haven't heard from Dave the paint yet....will phone him tomorrow

I reckon you should go down the custom route with the door.
Shave the handle and fill and smooth the letterbox, fit a solenoid door handle and then french a doorbell into it.......

Yeah detailed, metal flaked and striped now that'll a wicked door...

O.K ......quick update ...the new door rocks and only one window to go now........Errr, has this thread gone off on a tangent???....
.....Ohhhh yeah the karmann ghia ............been to wellington today to see it before I write out a cheque................worth every penny It is one of the best paint jobs I have ever seen........more shiney than a really shiney thing that has just been polished.....these pictures really don't do it jusitice.....however I took some for you guy's and girl's.....and it is defo coming home on friday (about 5:30pm)....so if anyone is around then or on saturday ,you are more than welcome to have a butchers 8)and a cup of tea
