At last ive brought an air cooled vee dub. i only picked it up today some dont know a great deal about it .me,sam and afew others had a look around it earlier to see what welding was needed for mot but it all seem to have been done and im going to have a look at everything else tomorrow and try and it starting on the key. ill let you all know how i get on and i'll get some more pics soon

Nice bug, whats the spec and whats the plans for it

i started the work on it tonight and got it running but ive got a problem with the carb sticking .i had a good look for any welding that needs doing and only found a hole in the spare wheel well, the rest seems solid.all the lights work but cant get the wipers or washers to work .the main thing at the moment is get it on the road and start having some fun in it.well as much fun as you can with a 1300

first thing is to get it on the road. then change the wheels, slam it ,redo the interior and maybe fit bigger engine

well i got out ther today i got the carb to stop jamming up and soted the wipers but i did notice the coil was on all the time so spent most of the day try to sort the wiring out but its all sorted now .i did have a go at driving it up th road today also but it keeps jumping out if 1st gear and doesnt seem to be reving high enough .so i think i need a new gearbox and i'm going to replace the carb ,so if anyone has a gearbox or carb (solex 31 pict4) for sale please let me know 07830039544 Damien

Sorry not much help on the gearbox and car front.

Hows it going dude nearly there and on the road or still loads to do

its nearly there i'm getting the tyres fitted tomorrow then its ready for the mot so should be on the road within the next week

dude...I have a gearbox ,I took it out of the karmann ghia ,so I know its a good box......may even have a secondhand carb .....give me a bell my numbers in the members section

ive sorted the gearbox but i may still need a carb if you have one .mines a 31 pict-4
