| I got a couple of hours done yesterday. Nothing major, but as Tesco says, 'Every Little Helps' First job was a to box up the front wheels (after getting the tyres taken back off) and get them off to FedEx so Jon Abbot can open up the centre bore of the wheels so they can fit on to the 944 hubs I have fitted. Next I decided to bolt up the 2 rear wheels. Having ordered a new set of bolts for the back and nuts for the front I was a bit peeved to see 4 of the 10 bolts Machine7 had sent me weren't chrome heads, so they'll be going back tomorrow. I went ahead and got the wheels in place though and then fitted up some new lower shock bolts. I need to go back and whip the nuts off these though and replace them with Nylocs. Not looking too bad, but the tyre is bloody close to the bodywork on the o/s!! Need to think to myself how close is too close?? This shows the van in the air still with the suspension hanging down, so there's a fair bit more movement yet. With the new exhaust though it means I can wind the rear adjusters back down again to lose the rake. I also bolted up the splash pans on the bumper, and also re-tapped one of the iron mounting holes (cheers for the tap Nomates), but there's no pics of this. Speaking of no pics, I also forgot to photograph the replacment winders I have for the front doors, cheers Tango. Finally, I bolted up the new rear plate I have, not sure it works with the surround, so unless I can get the surround frames 'stretched' to allow the writing at the bottom of the plate to be readable I'll probably sell them. Might need to call on some assistance from someone next, as it's on to elastic-trickery. Need to get my leccy washer bottle working, as well as the stereo, plus I need to fit the senders to the engine and then run the wires etc for the Autometer gauges and then them bolted under the dash and the tacho on top. Payment can be in alcohol, cups of tea and chocolate hob-nobs and also the treat of being entertained by William for the duration of the time that you are here! | |

| I got the wheels back this afternoon, whizzed them down to Sir Swish at Winterstoke Tyres who rubbered them up again for me and even dropped them back to my gaff for me. So, bolted up the front wheels, after discovering that the dustcaps need to be ditched, so need to sort something out there, but then got the old girl back down on the ground. Only managed to get these couple of snaps, but will get some more tomorrow morning after I've lowered the back end back down again. | |

| I would get the valve guides checked over before you use them , my brand new mexican heads were terrible .....I warned 66kg and he changed them for og seconhand ones as they burnt oil as the guides were really badly fitted ,especailly as you are getting everything balanced up would be a shame not to check them first , will you need to lap the valves in ? you can check them then | |

Def going to get them all checked over. I'm assuming they'll be ok as they are stock heads that have then be reworked by CB Performance. Def worth a quick check over though, you're right. | |

| I prepped the Bus for the MOT yesterday.
(Replaced the screw holding the washer pump to the bulkhead and thus restoring the earth, and then out the balck/silver plates back on).
Dropped it off with the fella tonight and it's getting tested in the morning.
Fingers crossed. | |
