Oli's 1971 Bug

I know you should probably create on of these as youve just joined, but i never did!

So ill make this one and just add to it!

My 1971 bug bought from wiltshire. It was completley stock when I bought it. I bought it off a chap that took it off an old women who claims to be the owner from new???


When I bought the car, I never thought of doing a full strip down and rstoring the whole lot, but as im now in the club, the thought of it does lurk in the back of my head! Especially when you see v dubs like Spencers and Scoops (well done boyz)

The bug was in as good a condition as it is now except from a good t cut, some welding under the front behind the beam, and a fiddle with the breaks.





Nothing like a good t cut. Never new it would come out so well!



This is how the engine looked when I purchased the car, very little has changed since, apart from a few minor things!

New pic not wanting to work, ill update another time!



One thing I was keen on doing was lowering the front. At stock height it was riding very high,.....



So I bought the dropped spindles and now,....





Its now slowly coming together, although with my travels now approaching, it may slow down even more, however it will be attending the first CTTP 07 with my dad behind the wheel!!

I quite like Dions green one, it does stand out in the pile of red and black ones that we have in our club!

cheers buddy! its the original colour, its one of those 'big beetle' limited edition jobbies and the paint job was one of the things which made it limited

Needs hitting with the lowering stick though dude! Look at the bug next to yours in the picture as a comparison!

His has now been lowered, just havnt got the pic to show it at the mo! Not as low as your though moup!, Nor mine, hehehe!

Fingers crossed dude, got the MOT wednesday morning. Running very low on money at the mo, so fingers crossed it'll go through cheap enough.

Just got these in the post, Hopefully cure a bit of my scraping and improve the handling of when in excessive speed of over 30mph!

gokart more like bounce bounce bounce be prepared for teeth banging, but then sams are adjustable so prob set to hard

Your bug looks great dude the shocks should make a nice little difference to the ride ect..
