Cos he's not on here very often, thought i'd put up some pics of the rusty bits im sorting on Vwbeetlebums panel van!

You all keep askin when your gonna see my bug.....well this is the reason im not gettin to it yet!!affraid

This is what greeted me when i peeled the 3 outer sills off!! used to be the centre/inner sill

above is 95% sorted now (new inner, centre & outer fitted, just tidying up)

This was the rear quarter in front of the wheelarch (d/s) after trimming out rust & filler

these are just 2 out of 30-odd corroded sections in this van (plus some Mot related spannerwork carried out)

Add 3 kids which are homeschooled & a wife workin all hours to pay the bills= long project!!

this afternoon i gutted out the d/side front wheelarch (which was full of filler). Rolling Eyes

Prepped & ready for a couple of patch repairs to the inner lips (oo-er!) & then on with the new panel...............would be tacked on by now if it werent for this countries arsey weather!

Well, after many many hours of cuttin, grindin & welding on beetlebums panelvan..................im done!!!affraid

actually im gonna help with prep for paint, swappin a door for a better 1 & some spannerin at mot time but the hard stuffs sorted.Rolling Eyes

Rumour has it another DBS members might be going to poke it with the lowering stick this week??

Ps: bizzarely after nearly 2 months of on/off (couple of hours for a couple of evenings a week) work, the sweet old lady next door (or so i thought!) came round as i was finishin up some sanding last night & proceeded to verbally tear me a new assh*le bout the noise!!silent

Yup Im very lucky to have 2 lovely chaps abuse the shit out my van when my back is turned haha. I'm glad you can crack on with my old red bug impy- it'll look amazing and you can take it to a new level I couldnt have reached. Rich- keep it safe and not too low!! I still have kerbs etc and speedbumps. After paying 100 for the adjusters I dont wana grind them away!
