I now have main beam (new relay) and a working speedo! Roll on MOT time. Plus Ive now done about 15 hours of prep work so a few more and its ready for paint.

gonna be cool mate...............worth all that hard work!

Hope so, it's caused the odd sleepless night before. Can't believe just how much its had done.

Guess who's going in the spray booth on Saturday 10th march for priming, then Sat 17th for top coat.....? ME! (well my van!). Plus I have now managed to prep one side of the van completely, roof is 'ok' and only have the other side to do and some bits on the tailgate to fettle. Just got to decide what hue of yellow to go with now.

Some more pics, showing some of the prep work done. Doesn't look pretty at the mo, but it's had about 20 hours spent on the prep so far alone. And its all cosmetic filler, not 1 bodge which fills me with glee.





Re-trimmed my door cards with some £20 velor from the freeze, looks much tastier than that crappy carpet that was in there,.

Cheers nomates. I am, with the help of a pro at Bridgy Bodyshop. I'm going in with my mate Ash, plus Pat (the pro) over 2 weekends. It'll never be a show winnning spray, but it'll make it look 10 times better than it currently does.

..... also note the new chair, no more springs poking in me arse!

Those window winders and the door handles are the same as mine, so as soon as I whizz mine off we will have a bit of a deal

Cheers Impster, yeah I am very proud of what I have done so far. I would've liked to have done the welding bits, but maybe next time I might take it on. i've spent the last 2 lunch hours carrying ther prep on, and I usually squeeze a couple of hours in after work before the light goes down.

Sill was rotten as a pear on the passenger side, plate on top of plate, nice inner, outer, middle now in):

Been looking at 'readers rides' and resto threads on Vzi whilst its been rainy and it makes me feel 20 times better knowing my panel is solid as a rock, and thankful that it didnt need any real chassis work. I;m getting soooo excited about seeing it in primer.

So, here's my ideas, to be custom made in vinyl, although I may get the artist at work to paint them on (but probably go with the sharp edges of vinyl). I know a very good chap who has made some vinyl decals for em in the past and have been very impressed with him.
