Bettsie the 1970's Mini

This is the Resto thread for mrs Bmtt4's Mini!

Which just so happends to be cloging up my shed from my future vw projects!

This is one of when we got her!


Originally we hoped that there wouldnt be to much to do,

However the more we dug the more filler and rust we found

Turns out we need a new lower rear repair panel as the boot floor is only hangin on buy a few inches





also the door inner sill on both sides need sections replacing



There rear boot lid was fairly rotted



So bought a replacement one at bristol mini day for £2



there's a few holes at the ends of the sills in the front wheel arches



and after bieng forced to by Carl i took a flap disc grinder to the roof gutter to find a hole in the roof however the gutters wernt as bad as we thought they could have been!






After a while of taking out the filler on the roof gutters which there was quite alot She looked a bit sorry under all the dust!



there also a few other bits that need doing or have been done like new backing plates on the rear drums and alos a new CV joint on the front!

im sure anything ive missed carl will pick up!

I used to have a 79 Mini 1000 when I was an apprentice. Ruff as hell but I loved it!!!

was there much more on the roof bud or still the one rear corner ??

This ones a 71 Austin 1000 also!

just a little on the other rear corner no holes just rust so shouldnt need replacing

and a bit on the front with holes but not as bad as the rear that you found which is the last pic of the roof!

cool all in all then a pretty godd 70s mini

yeh not to bad just lots of filler ! and mostly for no reason!

theres jack, tan gavs money maker and it worked lol
