| If it was me I would double check the timing is spot on, make sure the carbs are jetted for a 1641 and not a 1776 or something, make sure the 009 distributor is advancing properly, Oh, and make sure the fuel is getting to carbs properly. I know it is not much help but you got to start from the beginning and work through it as logically as you can. |

| Bugger! In that case you really need to pull the tops off On the bright side at least you would have another chance to fix the oil leak! |

| Its got to be something simple as it ran fine with everything thats on it now before you took it out the only thing changed is plugs and leads so i say go back to the old ones to eliminate that as the prob, then blow all the fuel lines through and as harv said make sure the fuels getting to each carb, i would have done this but it was 9:30pm dude so getting on abit | |

| Sam, I once fitted a brand new chrome rocker cover that just wouldn't seal! Ended up putting the old rusty one back on! | |

| Just because something is new doesn't mean it is any good, so as Carl says, elimate the leads and cap first, then look for other problems |

| From your description sounds like a fuel/carb problem.
Have you checked the valve clearances after you changed the pushrod tubes? Check them even if you think they are correct.
If you've not removed/disturbed the distributor when you took the engine out and the engine was running before it should run now at least as far as the ignition/timing goes. Put your original leads back on and check your plug gaps.
The oil leak you have from the rocker cover should be cured by putting the original covers and bales on. The bolt ups have a reputation for leaking.
Hope you get it sorted I'm sure it's only something minor... | |

| have you checked the fuel lines are not blocked? my engine wonldn't tick over correctly and would cut out if i didn't have my foot on the gas, turned out to be a blocked fuel filter hidden under the fuel tank, i changed and now runs perfect |

| Standard NGK plugs are crap, fit the iridium ones as they are much better, don't strip it down completely, just find out what size pistons are in it and spend sometime making sure the gaskets are good for the rocker covers, if you want some special gasket sealant we sell Ducatibond, it is quite dear but it seals Ducati crankcases together with no gaskets so it must be pretty good |
