Welcome to Swingnut, who's just recently joined our forum from the sunny shores of Swansea He's a good mate of mine that I met many years ago at think it was Action 2002, when he & Claire pulled up late on the Friday nite in "The bruise", their bay window camper that had more changes of paint colours than one of Rich's cars (And it was later owned by our very own Mr. Parson's .... but in there lies another very funny story that I might just tell if I'm prompted by enough folk) & proceeded to leave their head lamps on for ages shining straight into my tent!

Hello chaps! What a welcome! Mr Parsons! How the devil are you?! For the record: Rick was my Best-Man at my wedding (although I planned not to have a Best Man Rick stepped up to the role when things needed sorting out. Now that's a bloody good friend!). Anyway, on to my wheels: Here's my long-long-long-term project: '63/'64 splitty. S.Australian import. It's probably quite close to being on the road. The progress has been started and stopped so many times over. This is my current daily driver: '72 bug. I love it I also have my wife's '66 bug on the drive. It's been off the road for several years but this year it will be back! The only other VW I have in my possession currently is a beetle chassis with a Charger shell placed on top (gull-wing fibre-glass body that looks a bit like an old Lotus or something).

Cheers guys I drove a 1303 for the first time recently and I was shocked by the difference in driving comfort. The McPherson strut, IRS and steering rack made a joyous ride. And one thing that made me think a lot was the Kamei front spoiler - it seems to redirect the air that would normally get sucked into the framehead area. And that area is a deadend - the air goes nowhere and I think the spoiler makes a difference. So I got one: We'll see how it goes tomorrow but so far I've discovered that I can't park at the bottom of my drive any longer
