Big Blue Betty What more can I say????

OMG I cant believe it I just thought I would update Betty's Resto thread and realised I didnt even start one for her!!!

As most of you know Betty was the girl that got us started with our VW addiction.

We bought her back in May 07 for £4300 and she was worth every penny!!

The kids love her and we have had loads of fun with her at the shows.

Heres some piccies of her when we first bought her (before Gav cleaned her)!

So Gav has taken them off and he's gonna get them powder coated at work, so now she looks a bit naked!!





Unfortunatley her MOT runs out next month and the wet weather is certainly taking its toll on the old girl so Im sure there will be allot more piccies coming soon!!

I have never had a proper look round BBB, perhaps it looks solid. I love the colour and stance.

Betty's still at the MOT station (the MOT was booked for 11), so im feeling very nervous at the mo!!

She failed as we knew she would. There are 2 pages of failures but the worse bit is three bits of welding (nothing drastic) and the rest are silly little things like light bulbs and dangly hula flowers in the way!!

So altogether im absaloutley delighted!!!

On the case mate as of wed 2 seat belt mounts and a small hole just where the steering box is on the back of the front panel thats it

I do love the stance, it is just so right. Glad the MOT didnt hurt too much, mines up the end of the month too,

thats not to bad, a weekends work, but putting the hula flowers on the fail list what a nob jockey, must have taken longer to put that in the fail list than to have taken them down would have

Yeah that's what I thought!!! Surely he could have taken them down and just noted them as an advisory!

As it failed he just failed them if it was the only thing graham would have took them down they are great mot station and steve is a good friend

....How did he word it on the fail sheet ???

This is how its worded:

Windscreen has a sticker or other obstruction encroaching by more than 10 mm within zone 'A'

the only things that are there are the hula flowers and a little speaker mounted on the dash (think that was there for the last MOT tho).

Im not bothered as she failed anyway but if that was the only failure I would have been a bit pi$$ed!!

Right had my friend betty here today and got everything done for the retest bar the exhaust and headlights

You should know dude the harder you push a "little hole" the bigger it gets..

That is deff the truth especially on vws but it was all easy and i enjoyed doing it
