passat tdi boost probs

Hey Sphincters,
by now if anyone has seen any of my posts, you will know i'm still eternally stuck on sourcing parts for my mk2 vr conversion, (part;y because i dont really know what i'm looking for and.. ye i know i'm not really trying hard enough !! but meanwhile me passat is starting to show signs of tiredness. basically the turbo seems to give up (no rev range.. just nowt from beginning to end (not that it gets to the end!!)) then is absolutely fine and will work until the next time. have read up a little, possibly not terminal... blocked veins, boost probs ?
any clues, diagnostic showed nothing specific...

the variable vanes block with soot and stick so no turbo
egr can stick and cause this too
what codes did you get and does the fault reset if you turn the ignition off and then back on?

It's unlikely to be anything major it it goes back to normal on a restart.

Could be any of the following:

MAF sensor
N75 valve
EGR valve
Sticky vanes in the turbo.


My money would be on the MAF tbh.
