To take my mind off things recently .......I have burried myself into a 70 1500 rat project , it was going to be my nephews , but his dad didn't
see the potential quite the same as I did,so, then it was mine ....then my niece told my nephew ...and it is his again .... ...you follow

how cool is this ....all original heater channels ...and botton pillars ......guttering is sound
and the 1500 single port sounds sweet ....altho a bit oily ....the wings are daymouldings from 1991 ...and the exhaust is stainless ...v nice

don't get me wrong ......we dug around and it was'nt quite as goos as i thought ..but are they ever?

it had a rotten side to one of the heater chanels and big dave sold me a repair panel ,which worked a treat ,and most of the welding we have done over the long weekend ,was more preserving it than structual

we even got on to welding in adjuster to the beam today ........so no 'slam it ' remarks ,cos i'm old school (its going on its arse) .....lol
I reckon it will be cool as slammed on some rivieras ...
me and sam have been getting on well with it .......

So who's car is it?? I'm confuzzled!!

yes mate ......sams ...(my nephew) .....and yes agian ......its his first car ...

his insurance was going to be a 3-4k ....so was got him a classic policy ...and the beetle came out about £670

the bug was a well spent £1500 ...and i reckon it'll owe us about 500 more ,when its done

but a solid original -ish bug for 2k ain't no bank robbery .....

It is a sweet motor, really has got loads of potential, it'll be a great daily.

its probably gonna be a bout 2 k ....when its done but that does inc wheels and tyres ...obviously doing all the work ourselves ....

been through it quite thoroughly as its for sam , new steering box ,new front shocks,lowered,4 days welding ...lol ....new running boards ,stereo,new gearbox gaitors .....ect

Today we raided his parts stash ...and re covered the seats and gave it a wash ....the covers were off old seats ...but we made a good set from two ,as the originals had clips to releas the front and rear seats

rivs look sweet, reckon they'll look 100% better once sam has had his hands on them!
