I did do a couple of little jobs myself!

Fitted deluxe trim to the grill;

Without:

With:

And fitted a new engine bay seal (the old one had not been removed when the bus was painted by the previous owner)

(makes the back look much cleaner IMHO)

Those LATE seats look good but I think you need to put a bit of satin black on the frames, would of been easier before they were covered but should be ok with careful masking

I agree.. a bit annoyed they didn't do that before covering.. but then I didn't ask them to so I got what I paid for.. hands up, my fault!

Been tinkering again...

This is the bus as I started work this evening..

Shorty's '71 Early Bay - Page 9 DSC02350

Floor out:

Shorty's '71 Early Bay - Page 9 DSC02351

I was a bit gutted to find the 3 or 4 small welded patches covered in red oxide(?) paint.. I genuinely thought my bus was 100% solid underneath and hadn't been welded....

Nevermind, the work done is sound enough, so onwards and upwards eh!

Side panel out...

Shorty's '71 Early Bay - Page 9 DSC02352

And after a clean up, the new rock n roll bed fitted.. really pleased I had a mate round at the time to help with this.. unless you are an octopus, it definitely takes two!!

What should I do about the electrics hole in the side panel?

Leave it as it was? or fit a new modern style fitting similar to the found on caravans? in an ideal world, I'd get this covered up, repainted and have an electrical hook up tucked away neatly underneath somewhere.....

There you go

Just had a read... the early bay socket is different to those ones, but the same principle...

I'm going to investigate having a hook up tucked away out of sight somewhere and see about getting the panel filled up...

I thought you wanted to be able to put it back to original?
If not get the hole welded up an put the socket underneath or in the engine bay

just the front seats at the moment I guess thinking about it... everything else could theoretically be put back as it was...
