| It not due yet (start of april), Im going to give it a once over in the light this weekend, as I havn't really had chance yet, despite having it a week today. I know the exhaust is going, the back brakes are delaminating I'd say, I've had to put 2 tyres on it so far, not the end of the world... Need new seatbelts up front, as they are frayed. I am in saving mode so have to be mindful not spunking money on it just for looks, if it stays ugly for a year so be it | |

| Exhaust link pipe fractured completly earlier in the week, so found a cheap ernst item that looked like it would do the job. All nuts and bolts had rusted to nothing so it was just a case of cutting them off, unfortunatly as is somtimes the case with different makes of parts, things did not line up as planned, I had to cut the backbox straps (seized) to rotate the rear section in order for it to line up, so its rattling and crashing about like a bugger for time being... So I've got this coming hopefully sound a bit better, and last longer than the van! | |

| New exhaust now fitted, super quick delivery from VW Speedshop. Had to fit a shorter oil filter for clearance due to the pipework taking a different route from standard. Plugs/leads/oil change done at same time. Need to fit new engine mounts next, as its moving about a fair bit, which is causing a little knock on startup... Sifting through the receipts I had found a rather large one for a replacement engine amonst other things... After some enquiries with the previous owner and some engine code scrubbing, it turns out that its actually got the 2.1 MV 95bhp motor, running with an earlier pierburg carb, bonus | |

| I have took it apart! There are 9 less seats in it than when I got it! Im a fan of my impyitis, I'd never want to be cured! If I see somthing thats bargainous I have to buy it - if I get bored or see somthing else it has to go - me and olly were discussing this yesterday, its the 'process' thats enjoyable - if that makes sense...! Far too many good (and bad) cars out there to stick with one forever!!! | |

| 3.5 fresh you tart! Got the rear wash/wipe working, need to find or make a washer bottle top for it though. Headliner was non existant, just loads of yellow foam with hand prints in it. Stripped most of this off now bar a few stubborn bits, ready for new, removed most of the interior side panels/trim for recovering, and slapped some chequered floor tiles in for now to tidy it up a bit. | |

| A little update... The gearstick snapped off while I was driving, which was fun... So I replaced this lot while I put the new lever in... All now pretty slick. I bought some wheels off griff, and played about with them a bit, they are nearly finished, one left to go... Finished doing the headlining and all the fibreglass panels that fit round the edges, couple bits to tidy/clean up, but happy for a budget effort, its presentable, but not professional! And the other night, I won these on ebay for 99p! A pair of nice front seats from a Honda of some breed, civic or accord. A chap imported a big ol american truck, and they were fitted instead of the bench seat that should've been there, so he just wanted rid. Will be better than the shite thats in there at the mo. | |

| Cheers! Headliners are always bastards. There is a layer of seperate foam insulation beneath it as well, two layers. Its SO much quieter now, I can hear the radio!!! The lips of the rims are painted freehand, rim protectors are gash, wouldn't use em! Will have to get a new fitting machine though, coz I don't trust anyone else not to fuck em putting tyres on. The seats will look better once ive cleaned them, it'll take me months to get round to fitting them though... | |
