| im on the verge of giving up on this god damm bloody scirocco!!! please some one help me, i love this car but just cant get the little bitch to work. weve put a golf 1.8 gti engine into her. its had new fuel pump fitted as the golf pump is gravity fed. and ive wired up the warm up sensors now but still getting kangaroo jumping and stalling after about 20 metres. not sure what else to try. the only thing i can think off (but have been told shouldnt make a differents) is to change the size of the fuel lines. the rocco runs on 6mm internal and the golf ran on 8mm internal? what do you guys think? im off tomarrow and thurs if any one fancys having a look for me. if not who whats a water pumper? cheers guys |

| Mmmm, seen this before.... I know exactly what to do in this situation...... It's water, that's the problem. Shouldn't need it and this little VW is obviously rejecting it, she needs air not water! |

| Kangeroo bounce is general down to one of two things either fuel system or ignition system.. Does it tickover ok? is the problem only under acceleration? Does it rev ok when not under load? |

seems to tick over and rev ok just when under load. it also sounds like the fuel pump is sucking empty when driving. |

| sounds like fuel to me, maybe the pump isnt doing its job properly. my rs turbo use to do the same thing and that was down to the pump. hasnt the scirocco gti got a diffrent tank to the non gti, as the escort turbos was diffrent, maybe start with a scirocco gti tank and pump _________________ Just because i rock, dosnt mean im made of stone

Problem is there rarer than a rare thing. not even sure if they were imported to this contry. ive never seen one. ive fitted a brand new fuel pump on there, which is k-jetronic and runs up to 8 bar preasure. (only needs 5 bar). the golf fuel pump was to big to fit under the car and is gravity fed so didnt work when put in the engine bay.
how hard would it be to make the fuel line holes in the tank bigger? |

| I had a similar problem when we turbo'd a Nova went through loads of shit with it got told it was this that and everything by people really in the know.. But we ended up sorting ourselfs... It was the fuel return line was to small so not returning enough fuel... Easy way to test that is to put a fuel can in the passenger foot and run a lenght of pipe off the fuel return straight into it.. Not the safest way though.. LOL... But it worked... In the end i ran a bigger return pipe up to the fuel filler neck somewhere job done.. Like Carl said about the tanks i would try and get a injection tank if that turns out to be the problem and if it's not the problen see if you can borrow a known good coil.. _________________ CONCENTRATED SMOGGER .......................................................
