| Que how long is a piece of string... If this needs to be in tech so be it... I was after opinions really though. Im not a twin carb guru - i have always rocked stock. I will be looking to spruce up the bugs performance after its mot... Economy is not my middle name, its not a daily so that is not a priority. Tunability and a bit of nippyness is what im wanting for now. http://www.volkszone.com/VZi/showthread.php?t=592995Would these be a useable option for the 1600 motor, or overkill? What would a good price be for a complete setup, manifolds linkage etc...? There is a pair, complete on vzi for £225 What alternatives would you sugget? Teach me! _________________ Party On Dude!

| you want a pair of webber 34 ict's what carbs are you looking at ... P.s don't be affraid of twin carbs, the standard vw manifold is hugely inefficiant ...you may even get better mpg and hp with a set of twins Altho' because they mainly don't run chokes ,you may need to idle the engine for 10 mins before it runs smooth or what i do , just nail it no matter what the weather is _________________ Nomates ........the Rev and gordo ....me bro'.....turning prefectly good beer into piss, since 1990

| Speed editing - I cocked it up first time and forgot... I am a nail it everywhere type of chap unfortunatly You've used these then bud? I'll have a lookout, what kinda price did you pay new/used? I know it depends on condish/country of origin, just ballpark? Setup is in mind too, we will have to book it for a day and go up as a club day out for some power (or not in my case) runs _________________ Party On Dude!

| Thanks for all the replies... Joker - the scat ones need a change of fanshroud then? Did you get the ones with chokes or without? What made up your mind to chose these? Tango - Did you have price in mind? Those prices on status are more reasonable than i expected Cheers for all help so far _________________ Party On Dude!

| heres the pics of my carbs on engine. i cannot see why you need a 30hp fan, unless it's for the fresh air pipe outlets. i bought them as my wife will probably drive car sometimes, and it will make it easier, also when i bought them weber had gone out of business and 34ict kit was hard to get, you could buy the empi one's but they are complete crap from what i have been advised. |
