hi i am after a 2.4 5 cylinder diesel aab engine or a 1.9td engine for my t4 van as mine is about to go F*** up more than it is already Sad Sad lol!

it some time over runs, it smokes (blue smoke) when on full throttle, and when cruising on the motorway at 70 mph the temp gauge goes up to 3/4 when normally at halfway, Sad

my t3 runs at 1/2 normaly and just over half on motorway, thats 1.9 td, the smoke and over run could be pump timeing out bud ??

poss, im not up on diesels but do know if pump timeing is out it will cause smokeing and overrun

if the pump timing is out ,it could also make the temp high


I would get it checked by a deisel specalist

To be honest mate i worry when mine creeps up but i know my gearbox is the cause, get the timeing checked and the pump timeing Wink

Could be loads of things causing the over-run, check for sticking stop solenoid...check the pump timing aswell

Has it got any other syptoms? Knocking,down on power,etc

Could be EGR valve sticking (if its got one) causing the smoking

these early diesels are a piece of piss to work on, no electronics!! Very Happy Very Happy

its a bit down on power but other than that its fine it dont have an egr valve on the old girl

I'd look into all above, but would also look at possible headgasket(pressure test) and a compression test if you get no joy
